Re: AGM in Ballymena 15/03/17
All members should note the deadline date to register Single Bird Challenge is 17th March 2017. It's a Free Entry - Don't Miss Out! The Single Bird Challenge is flown in the Kings Cup race each season from France with the Joe Doheny Trophy presented to the winner. Any new members wishing to enter can contact Co-ordinator David Black direct, either send all details to 11 Drumiller Hill, Dromore, Co. Down, BT25 1EP or Tel: 028 (92) 692713 or Mobile: 07876 157706.
NFC Race programme 2017: Skibbereen Old Bird Inland National Tuesday 23rd May; Sennen Cove Yearling National Wednesday 7th June; Grand National Kings Cup St Allouestre Friday 30th June; Friendship National Quimper Friday 7th July; Penzance Young Bird National Wednesday 6th September; Skibbereen Young Bird National Saturday 16th September. At the committee meeting that followed the AGM, the committee decided to give £1000 to each of the 4 channel races to be divided into 10 prizes of £100 for a Single Bird Nom in each of these races.
The Mid Antrim Combine Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th March 2017 at 8.00pm in the Ballymena & District HPS Clubrooms at Fountain Place, Ballymena. Two Delegates from each member club to vote on the business which will include election of Officials, a Management Committee and putting in place a set of Rules as requested by the RPRA. We do hope that the clubs who resigned have a change of mind and make a return, they will be made most welcome. The way the sport is going there will be big changes in the next very few years and we should be protecting the future for those who are still left. In the local area upwards of 10 lofts will not be competing in 2017. It could be the case in the future where small clubs will have to race mark at another club to be eligible to compete for NIPA honours, that’s worth thinking about. Some of the Cups and Trophies donated for competition are Memorial Awards and all local members should be competing for same without dispute. As a result of sponsorship by Dixon Contractors it will not be necessary to collect club member fees for 2017 season at least, but we intend to charge a nominal Club Fee of £3.00 to cover RPRA fees etc. This and the possibility of taking Associate Members at a fee of £5.00 per loft will also be considered for those racing in the area where the club is not a member or where club don’t intend to join for 2017.
DISTANCES/LOFT LOCATIONS
A reminder to all club sec's that loft locations and distances must be redone via Google Earth and forwarded to the NIPA before the start of the Old Bird season, otherwise the club will not be competing in the race result. The NIPA require a copy of each Latitude & Longitude Certificate for each loft as issued by RPRA, and Distances for all members which are going on to the NIPA computer. This will bring all lofts on to the one system and another move in the right direction. This job needs done before start of racing, it was delayed from last year to give all clubs time to make changes. The next Committee Meeting will take place on Tuesday 7th March 2017.
Birds advertised for William Balmer have all been sold, he has a number of Feeders, Drinkers and Nest Bowls left. Tel John on 07759 205407. Jim Sinton of Antrim has a large shed needing sold, it might need a bit of attention and will not be expensive. Tel Jim 028 (94) 468240.

Re: AGM in Ballymena 15/03/17
AGM for Mid Antrim Combine – The annual meeting was held on the usual date in the middle of March, Ballymena & District HPS Clubrooms was the venue on Wednesday 15th March. Almost all member clubs were represented, attendance just the same was quite small.
Chairman Jackie Steele opened the meeting and invited Secretary Willie Reynolds to read the minutes of the previous AGM and the follow up meeting held in Ballymena. All told at that time four member clubs had decided to leave the MAC. That left five clubs to carry on with the competition and the awards were presented at a recent function in Ballymena. Danny Dixon was thanked for his sponsorship through Dixon Contractors, £600 over the major races for the NIPA and INFC and then at the end of the season prior to the presentation he agreed to purchase the Diplomas and engrave the various cups and trophies. To help with the overall funding, he will also cover the cost of the Diplomas and Engraving for 2017.
From the previous AGM it was proposed we donate £50 to Macmillan following the passing of long time member Len Russell and this was done. Recently I was reading through the Minute Book and Len was a regular attended at the various meetings. The Gold Ring races for Young Birds never got off the ground, although we had an RPRA Licence for both events. A list of Rules were to be drawn up and made available to all member clubs at the request of the RPRA (Irish Region), there were available for approval at this meeting.
The Accounts were passed and the MAC is healthy with just short of £300 in the funds. Under AOB for 2016 it was agreed we remove all rules standing in the Minute Book and replace them with the new set of New Rules which will apply from 2017. The list of rules were presented to the meeting and were agreed with the main objectives to be peace and harmony and getting back to the reason for the formation of the MAC, a bit of fun and local competition among the local fancy.
The officials elected at the previous meeting were returned to office without objection, Chairman Jackie Steele (Rasharkin & District) and Willie Reynolds (Ballymena & District).
That brought the AGM business to an end and we proceeded to an ordinary club meeting. It had been agreed just one winning Diploma would be presented per loft added to that it was further agreed to present a Diploma to the winning club in the Champions League and small Diplomas to the winners of the OB & YB Knock-Out. All members will be involved in the Knock-Out, the OB final will be Penzance and the YB final Rosscarbery. James Harris has kindly agreed to run the Knock-Out competitions and also as usual the Champions League. Further sponsorship is to be looked at.
It was also agreed we accept Associate Members from eligible clubs who were former members of the MAC, fees agreed were Clubs £3.00, Associate Members £5.00. There will be no membership fee necessary for members attached to member clubs. For this year all applications are required by the Friday of the second race, giving those interested plenty of time. It is hoped to take the presentation around member clubs where possible, Ballymena & District will host the next one.
This year member clubs need to supply a list of competing lofts so we can list the total membership including Associate members into the Knock-Out, and then those just competing with young birds.
