The return to Gowran Park turned out a lot better than the previous week, race should have been from Corrin but it was decided that with the weather unpredictable they would stay short. Just short of 20,000 birds were released at the early time of 8.00am in a helping Southerly wind and the birds romped home with good returns reported. Davy Booth has been going great guns recently and enjoyed a top result marking his birds at the Foyle RPS in Derry City, the winner recorded velocity 2166ypm. Four races to date and 4 x 1st Sect H and this week adds 1st, 2nd and 3rd Open NIPA.

Early birds in Mid Antrim from Gowran Park -
After the erratic race last weekend the NIPA returned to Gowran Park for the 4th race of the old bird season, Alan Darragh from Cullybackey has been the loft to beat winning the club three races on the trot. Last week 2nd in the NIPA Sect B and a big early bird timed at the weekend to finish 1st Sect B & 5th Open NIPA. In the MAC top spot was won by William and Jean McLean of Rasharkin while Jimmy Rock had a top card in Harryville finishing 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th and 7th Club with the winner doing velocity 2110.

The 2 year old Dark Cheq hen contained all the lofts best bloodlines, was recently mated and was sitting eggs 10 days.

North West Review –
The big local result in this week’s Triangle competition was achieved in the Coleraine Premier who had 420 birds competing. The loft in form in the club and making it a back to back of wins is the loft of Bond and Diamond winning with one of their widowhood cocks, the best Alan Darragh bloodlines. When congratulating the lads tonight they were over the moon with their performance, 2nd in Sect A & 7th Open NIPA. What a super team performance by the Coleraine Prem Secretary Leslie Madden with a stack of pigeons in the result and also taking the club pools of £56. When chatting to Leslie last night he was quietly confident on a good fly and boy did they perform well. Old Hand and the former Kings Cup winner Anthony McDonnell finished a good runner-up, ever consistent. Thanks to Jimmy McSeveney for the info.
Best bird in Ballymoney was timed by Lynn Neill a Blue Chequer hen racing natural and is a Lambrecht x Van Reet cross. She was 1st Club this week, 7th Section A and 18th Open NIPA and in the first race from Mullingar she was 7th Club, 16th Section A and 37th Open NIPA. One to watch for in the future here, well done Lynn.
