Dunmanway 5B Championship - 15/09/18

Going forward into 2024 the Ballymena based MAC has the following clubs in membership.Ballymena & District, Ahoghill Flying Club, Rasharkin & Dist, Randalstown HPS,Kells & District, Cullybackey HPS, Broughshane & District and Harryville HPS.. New officials are Chairman Robin Service from Ballymena & District and Secretary Willie Reynolds from Ballymena & District. President is Danny Dixon. Mervyn Eagleson is PO. All the latest news and results will be listed here, including Champions League and OB & YB Knock-out. Fees for 2024 are £5.00 for Clubs which includes all the members.

MAC Dunmanway 5Bird – Steele & McNeill Rasharkin 1796, W & J McLean Rasharkin 1766, K Wilkinson & Son New Antrim 1708, K Wilkinson & Son 1707, W & J McLean 1705. Three 1st MAC on the trot for the lofts latest Champion Isla. She is off the best of their Lambrechts team, her sire bred a Mullingar 1st Open winner for Bertie Blair of Ballymena and her aunt bred J & M Milliken 1st Open NIPA Fermoy . She has now won 1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine, 1st Sect B NIPA Roscrea,1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine, 1st Sect B NIPA Dunmanway and 1st Club, 1st Mid Antrim Combine, 1st Sect B NIPA Dunmanway 5 Bird Championship.

Cullybackey Centre arrangements - Money for Rosscarbery will be collected Wed 19th Sepember in Cullybackey clubrooms 8.30 to 9.30pm. Birds race marked Fri 21st September 3.00 to 6.00pm at Cullybackey clubrooms. All ETS to be cleared of all races, T3 clocks ready after lorry leaves. George McDowell Centre Manager.

Ballymena & District 6/23 – R Service & Son 1645, J Eagleson & Sons 1640, R Service & Son 1629, Blair & Rankin 1620, G Bell 1593, R Service & Son 1589, D Mitchell1570, J Eagleson & Son 1567, G Bell 1531, W & J Smyth 1358. Robert and Robin Service win the Dunmanway 5 Bird event clocking at 14.08hrs for the 246 miles journey. The winning blue hen is half-sister to their good racing 5 x 1st cock that also won the Section from Rosscarbery National. Dam was a hen gifted to them by Jimmy Rock of Harryville. They also won the club Knock-Out.
