Going forward into 2024 the Ballymena based MAC has the following clubs in membership.Ballymena & District, Ahoghill Flying Club, Rasharkin & Dist, Randalstown HPS,Kells & District, Cullybackey HPS, Broughshane & District and Harryville HPS.. New officials are Chairman Robin Service from Ballymena & District and Secretary Willie Reynolds from Ballymena & District. President is Danny Dixon. Mervyn Eagleson is PO. All the latest news and results will be listed here, including Champions League and OB & YB Knock-out. Fees for 2024 are £5.00 for Clubs which includes all the members.

Alan Steele 1st Sect B from Fermoy –

Best bird in the weekend race from Fermoy was timed by Alan Steele of the Muckamore HPS and for the former member in Kells & Dist it was the first time the loft topped the NIPA Section B. The winner was tiomed at 2.00pm after the 10.15am liberation, the loft records velocity 1517 for the 194 miles to Steeple Road. The bird was bred from stock supplied by David Currell of Glenarm, the sire was Soontjen x Herman Ceusters the loft finished 2nd Sect earlier with another young bird bred from a pair from David Currell. From Fermoy (2) Alan finished 1st Sect B & 21st Open NIPA with almost 13,000 birds competing.

Best in the Mid Antrim Combine and also 2nd Section B are Surgenor Bros of Kells & Dist. Geoff clocked his blue hen at 14.09hrs for the 201 mile fly to record velocity 1512ypm. This hen was placed 2nd club beaten by a loft-mate, 3rd Combine and 4th section B from Gowran Park a couple of weeks earlier. Breeding is Van Loon and is bred from Derek Parr stock through club-mate and good friend Davy Jackson. It's Geoff's second Combine win in the young bird season and his third in total having topped the Combine from Fermoy old birds. Excellent racing from a top fancier.

Winner was timed at 14.09hrs flying 201 miles this bird was previously 2nd Club from Gowran Park, Van Loon bloodlines from Derek Parr.

Harryville HPS 8/241 – K & K Kernohan 1512, J Rock 1504, R H Clements 1500, J Rock 1498, R H Clements 1466, K & K Kernohan 1465, 1458, R H Clements 1449, 1449, 1448. Keith Kernohan timed his winner in Ballykeel at 14.09hrs, the mealy cock was flying 201 miles. The sire was Massenhoven from Oroory Hill Stud and the dam was Vermeerbergen, a half-sister to their Wilms 1st Nat. The young bird was a gift from good friend George McDowell.

Four wins on the trot for Bertie Blair and the top three positions this week. First bird clocked at 14.10hrs flying 201 miles. Bertie's first two pigeons are Louis Thijs from Paddy McManus of Ahoghill, and his third from Gary Gibson of Cullybackey.
