Going forward into 2024 the Ballymena based MAC has the following clubs in membership.Ballymena & District, Ahoghill Flying Club, Rasharkin & Dist, Randalstown HPS,Kells & District, Cullybackey HPS, Broughshane & District and Harryville HPS.. New officials are Chairman Robin Service from Ballymena & District and Secretary Willie Reynolds from Ballymena & District. President is Danny Dixon. Mervyn Eagleson is PO. All the latest news and results will be listed here, including Champions League and OB & YB Knock-out. Fees for 2024 are £5.00 for Clubs which includes all the members.

The second young bird race of the season was again from Mullingar in Co. Meath. The Birds were liberated on Saturday 15th August at 1.35pm in a light east wind. Rasharkin fancier Danny Dixon had an excellent race winning the first nine positions in the Mid Antrim Combine and 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 19th and 21st Open NIPA area lib 3,876 birds. His winning blue flight hen sitting on eggs was clocked at 16.03pm for the 109 miles fly to the village of Dunloy. The sire is a brother of "Heartbreaker" while the dam a daughter of "Heartbreaker" The second bird clocked is a direct son of "Heartbreaker" paired to one of the last daughters of "Superke" Two Combine wins on the trot for the Dixon loft and his third Combine winner of the season. Today’s race winner in Cullybackey from Mullingar where 9 members sent 311 birds, was Gary Gibson, timing his Cheq Pied hen at 3.54.57 to record a velocity of 1273.726. Well done Gary, and to all in the result today.

Ballymena & District HPS 9/252 – W & J Smyth 1267, R Service & Son 1240, W & J Smyth 1230, 1230, Blair & Rankin 1227, W & J Smyth 1220, Blair & Rankin 1211, R Service & Son 1189, 1181, 1181. William and Joe Smyth have the winner this week. After a bad trap their blue hen was eventually timed at 15.57pm for the 102 mile fly to the Carniny Road lofts. Sire is Jackie Traynor Co. Durham and the dam Koopman. This hen is closely related to many winners including the sire and grandsire which have both won Penzance.
