New NIPA Press Officer – I would like to inform everyone that I have been newly elected as Press Officer for the NIPA and will be covering Sections C, D, F and G in the NIPA in this forthcoming season 2024. I kindly ask for all the Club Secretaries or race Secretaries within these sections to get in contact with me highlighting their club and contact details for the future publication of results, loft reports and any other information for publication. JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G

The N.I.P.A. Youngbird season opener got off to a flyer from Kilbeggan leaving fanciers wanting more. Up next was a repeat of the first race with another trip to Kilbeggan Racecourse for Sections B,C,D,E,G & H race marked for Kilbeggan in in Co. Westmeath. And Section F race marked for Navan in Co. Meath. A Total of 402 members of the Mighty N.I.P.A. sent a total of 14,157 Birds to Kilbeggan and 70 Members sent 1,965 Birds to Navan. In Kilbeggan the birds were liberated at 12 noon in a light westerly wind at Kilbeggan Racecourse. Section F Birds were liberated in Navan at 8:30AM on Saturday morning the 3rd of August in a Light South West Wind.

OWEN CAN FARRELLY CLOCK THEM IN FROM KILBEGGAN
The Winning Bird from the second Youngbird Race belongs to Owen Farrelly of Trinity R.P.C in Section D.
Owens Open Winner is from a kit of 6 youngbirds bred by O’Roory Hill Stud. Owen also takes the Top 5 Open Positions from Kilbeggan 2 a fantastic achievement with 4th & 5thOpen also being from this Kit.
Many Congratulations to Owen Farrelly on claiming 1st N.I.P.A. Open from Kilbeggan 2 from 14,157 Birds.

The Winning Bird from the Navan Race belongs to Gordon Bros & Sons of Killyleagh Central.
Many Congratulations to Gordon Bros & Sons on claiming 1st Section F from Navan 2 from 1,965 Birds. The Brothers also takes the top 23 Positions in the Section also a super day at the races.

SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (95/2,783) from Kilbeggan 2 was J&D Braniff of Glen H.P.S. The Braniff’s have carried their Section Winning form into the youngbird season winning Glen H.P.S. (265 Birds) In Section C they win 1st & 2nd Section C (2,783 Birds) and overall in the NIPA Open they finished up 7th & 8th(9,856 Birds) Many Congratulations to Section C Winners Joe & David Braniff and Big Congratulations to all Club Winners

Moving on to the 2nd yb race in the calendar it was back to kilbeggan for the EAA whilst other sections were on different sites!
This weeks winner taking the result out by the roots is Gary McKenna, back with a bang Gary is no stranger to the top table in our great sport, although he has revealed his secret weapon, Riley, Gary’s grandson is helping out with the birds and is putting the graft in yielding results! Fair play to you young fella,stick tight to granda he knows a thing or two
Had a great phone call with Gary and he tells me the hen he timed was separated by the sliding door, the breeding on the sires side is Jacobs x Van den bulk from O Roory hill stud
On the dams side it’s Philip Baadjou
Hen has had both races to date.
A very big well done to both of you guys congratulations!
A mention also to Hugh Bigger who had an outstanding card once again . Super effort
A reminder from our secretary that this weeks race is indeed a pool race so usual craic applies!

The Winner of Section F (70/1,965) from Navan 2 was Gordon Bros & Sons of Killyleagh Central H.P.S Another fine display form the Gordon Brothers taking the top 23 Positions in the Result and a staggering total of 41 places from the first 50 positions. The lads Win both Clubs Killyleagh Central (337 Birds) and Cloughey HPS (121 Birds) and 1st – 23rd Section F (1,965 Birds) The Section F Winner is from their Kitano & Van Den Bulck bloodlines with getting 27 together it was a photo finish. The Winner of Section G (35/1,768) from Kilbeggan 2 was C&G Quinn of Drumnavady H.P.S. The Quinns took top spot in Drumnavaddy for 2 weeks on the bounce (342 Birds) along with securing first place Section G from Kilbeggan 2 (1,768 Birds) and also getting a top result of 25th Open NIPA (14,157 Birds) Gerry & Isla Quinn pictured happily displaying their Section G Winning pigeon from the Kilbeggan 2. The Section Winner also won 1st Club last week from Kilbeggan making it 2 Wins from 2.
