Eagleson Loft Wins 1st Combine From Dunmanway Yearling National

The Nipa Dunmanway yearling National was flown on Sunday 15th June when the birds were released at 11.45am in light westerly winds. Johnston Eagleson & Sons timed the best bird in the local area flying 247 miles to the Cullybackey Road.

Their winning chequer pied cock was timed at 16.45 pm to record 1449ypm. The cock was in the Section and Open prizes the previous week from Dale and was in the top 10 of the Combine earlier in the season from Grenagh. Sire is a son of the 'The Pest' when paired to a granddaughter of Kittel and the dam was a gift from Danny Dixon a couple of years ago and is off a brother of Superke. This was the only youngster bred from the pair last season. Two Combine wins for the Eagleson Loft on the same day, 1st, 2nd & 3rd Combine from Bude and 1st Combine Dunmanway Yearling National.

Robin Service was next best with 2nd & 3rd Combine. His first bird is off a Hereman Ceuster cock of Derek Parrs when paired to a Soontjen hen that won the club from Roscrea last season. Paddy & William McManus had the top three in Ahoghill. Winner doing1412 was a Vrancken/Lambrecht hen. Marc Neilly best in Broughshane on 1351. This cock was winning its third race of the season. Sire Van Mechelen from Paddy & William McManus and dam from Geoff Dickey. Freddie Barkley 1st in Rasharkin 1350 and Jonny Barkley and Laura Surgenor best in Kells on 1337.
