Tommy Plant, Kingswood
It is with deep regret that i report the sudden death of one of Kingswood HPS long term members Tommy Plant, Tommy was always at the centre of good hearted banter and craic, constantly making fun, he will be missed by everyone in our club,. Tommy was a very dedicated, patient pigeon man and would pride himself in setting birds up for the hard day water racing, he excelled at Penzance. The passing of a true Sportsman -"Tommy Van De Plant" Rest In Peace.

Henry Beattie, Laurelvale
It is with regret that I inform the fancy of the death of the legendary Henry Beattie of Laurelvale. A Statesman of the sport and a real gentleman he was a great long distance man doing well in the INFC National races and a winner from France. Henry won the Friendship OB Nat from Falaise in 1979 and then the Blue Riband of the sport in 1994 with his Mealy Hen “Laurel Queen” winning 1st Open INFC from Rennes. He has now gone to be among his great pals Bob Harkness, Billy Erwin and Jack Gilmour in Northern Ireland and Matt Jamieson from Scotland who were also great long distance men. It is indeed the end of an era, when will we have the like of this again. I was lucky that over my years involved in the sport, I had met them all.
