Eddie Campbell holding his 1st Fed winner from Penzance.

1st Open is our chairman Eddie Campbell winning
back to back ECF opens 2010 & 2011 from Penzance with only
seven away and three in the top 20 in the Open.
Eddies open winner is a 3 y/o widowhood hen still holding a
full wing. The sire is a Gerry Mc Court Van-Reet and the Dam is
down from Tommy Walsh ( Kilkenny ). As a yb in 2008 she was
one of Eddies best ybs that year, bringing home 2nd club Pilmore
550+ birds, 11th club Tramore 600+ birds and was 7th club
Skibbereen 160+ birds. She was unraced in 2009 & 2010 being used
as a widowhood hen. This year she was taken back out for racing and
was given the two Pilmores, an Owenahincha and both the Talbenny &
Bude Opens. This proved to be good preparation for her " Big Race "
posting one of the top velocitys of the entire libberation of approx
9000+ birds . The 2 y/o hen that was 19th Open is bred the same way.
She was 13th Open from the Bude race a week earlier. The yearling
hen coming in 7th Open is bred from a Paddy & Martin Rock Cock
when paired to a hen from Dereck Cummins.

2nd Open P & J Snell. Paddy & Johns yearling hen is a Dordin x Delbar.
She was a second round darkness yb and flew all the land races in the
second part of the yb programme including Skibbereen.
This year she had paired to another hen and was sitting on eggs with this
hen. About ten days before going to the race a cock that had lost his hen
started showing an interest in the hen that she was paired to. Paddy gave them
a small youngster about 5 days before basketing which they sat. But the added
interest by the cock in " Her mate " must have given her the extra needed to
put in a great performance.

3rd Open Graham Bros. This Mealy yearling hen has now put in 2 supper performances
for the brothers. She was 2nd club and 5th Open from Bude a week earlier and took
a tidy sum in pools money. She then posts another great result a week later in the Open
from Penzance coming in 2nd club and 3rd Open taking an even tidier sum in the
pools this time. Her sire is a Mealy bred by Jim Butler of Banbridge and her
dam is a Blue hen bred by Graham Bros down from a Blue cock from
Michael Conlon of Banbridge. ( Im heading to Banbridge to look for new stock )

Well done to all. I would like to thank John Campbell for all his help getting such great photos
and script. John a great flyier himself was actually 12th Open Bude pipping Pop
into 13th spot. But I think " Papa Bear " put his foot down in Penzance and showed
us all " Who the Boss is ". Well done all and thanks again John.
