Roscrea – Friday 05/08/11
With weekend weather problems the NIPA brought the race forward by one day with birds collected on Thursday and released in Roscrea, County Tipperary on Friday at 11.30am. Most members were able to send and returns were a lot better that the previous week, we have now completed three races and this weekend will return to Roscrea. Trevor Greenaway from Gilford is the best reported in the NIPA, the Gilford & Dist loft is followed by Dillon & Morrow of Tandragee and M McDowell & Son Markethill.

Mid Antrim Combine had just over 2,000 birds competing in the third young bird race flown from Roscrea on Friday. The best bird was timed in the Harryville HPS, the Ballymena based club had a top result. Lexie Mullan who flies to lofts at Castle Gardens had the early arrival timing his Cheq cock sent driving at 2.15pm to record velocity 1560 for the 146 miles. The sire was Soontjen bred from a son of Spartacus from club-mate Allen McBride while the dam was Vandenabeele the best M & D Evans. He was followed by J & N Simpson 1st Broughshane & Dist (1544) and Conor Magill 1st New Antrim Amalgamated (1532).
