The NIPA continued their young bird programme with the weekend race, the 5th of the season, from Clonmel in Co Tipperary, liberation was at 9.15am and the leading birds exceeded a mile a minute. Best reported is in Larne & Dist with Beggs & Hall recording velocity 1845 followed by Ian Gibb & Son of Glenavy just a yard behind and having to settle for the runner-up spot for the second race on the trot. Positions, are subject to correction.

Anthony McDonnell fresh from his recent success with the RPRA One Loft Race had the very early arrival from Clonmel, best in the Coleraine Premier and top spot in the Coleraine Triangle doing velocity 1810. The consistent Hanson & Harpur were runner-up followed by Paul O’Connor. A & C McCorriston had 1st Coleraine & County Derry (1736) and R & J Parke were 1st Windsor Social (1741).

The race took place on Saturday 20th August from Clonmel a distance of 182 mile into Derry City. The big race was won by Donal Kelly and the Lads at Sow & Grow, the pigeon was bred by Paul O’Connor of the Coleraine Premier H.P.S winning £100 each Well done boys. The 5th race of the young bird season the NIPA birds had moved to Clonmel in County Tipperary flown Saturday 20th August with liberation at 9.15am with sunshine and blue skies and a helping southerly wind. For the second week the winning birds exceeded a mile a minute and most lofts reported full returns. Rasharkin had the best birds in the local area, J & M Milliken timed at 12.21pm flying 190 miles. Breeding of this one is Vandenabeele through J Hutchinson & Son Ballymoney. Beaten in a photo finish also timing at 12.21pm was Milliken & Barkley, their Pied cock bred from John Patterson of Ballylesson bloodlines. Both lofts had a number of other early arrivals and others well placed included Harold Cubitt and A C & T Tweed. George McDowell had 1st Kells (1792), George & Anne Eagleson 1st Ballymena & Dist (1792), George Connolly 1st Broughshane (1791), Joe Ramsey 1st Harryville (1785), Houston Bros 1st Randalstown (1784) and Alan Darragh who has won all five races in Cullybackey (1782).

The race marking arrangements for the local Cullybackey Centre regarding the NIPA Talbenny YB Nat due to be flown on Saturday 3rd September are as follows. Cullybackey will be open on Wednesday 31st August to collect the club entry fees etc between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Race marking in Cullybackey will be Thursday 1st September between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

The race took place on Saturday 20th August from Clonmel a distance of 182 mile into Derry City. The big race was won by Donal Kelly and the Lads at Sow & Grow, the pigeon was bred by Paul O’Connor of the Coleraine Premier H.P.S winning £100 each Well done boys. The 5th race of the young bird season the NIPA birds had moved to Clonmel in County Tipperary flown Saturday 20th August with liberation at 9.15am with sunshine and blue skies and a helping southerly wind. For the second week the winning birds exceeded a mile a minute and most lofts reported full returns. Rasharkin had the best birds in the local area, J & M Milliken timed at 12.21pm flying 190 miles. Breeding of this one is Vandenabeele through J Hutchinson & Son Ballymoney. Beaten in a photo finish also timing at 12.21pm was Milliken & Barkley, their Pied cock bred from John Patterson of Ballylesson bloodlines. Both lofts had a number of other early arrivals and others well placed included Harold Cubitt and A C & T Tweed. George McDowell had 1st Kells (1792), George & Anne Eagleson 1st Ballymena & Dist (1792), George Connolly 1st Broughshane (1791), Joe Ramsey 1st Harryville (1785), Houston Bros 1st Randalstown (1784) and Alan Darragh who has won all five races in Cullybackey (1782).

The race marking arrangements for the local Cullybackey Centre regarding the NIPA Talbenny YB Nat due to be flown on Saturday 3rd September are as follows. Cullybackey will be open on Wednesday 31st August to collect the club entry fees etc between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Race marking in Cullybackey will be Thursday 1st September between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
