Members & Friends of Ballymena are also reminded they are entitled to nominate a bird also to compete for £100. Nomination to be received, at the latest by marking night.
Ballymena Ring Nom Fermoy Open (RPRA Licence IR05/11) will take place the week after Talbenny Derby. Price this year will be £5 per bird (no limit). Rules and prize distribution will be same as for other years. Ring numbers & Entry fees to be received on or before close of race marking on Friday night 9th September 2011.

Another very good race last weekend from Fermoy, birds were released at 10.00am in a North Westerly wind. It was a case of good returns again after a steady fly from the 200 mile event, best locally was Surgenor Bros who timed three birds in as many minutes to take the first three in Kells & Dist. Their winner was timed at 2.17pm to record velocity 1379 and this with the second bird takes 1st & 2nd in the Mid Antrim Combine.

What a season it has been for Gilford & District RPC the latest success coming for J & D Breen who timed their yearling Black Cheq cock at 21.12hrs flying 14 hours in the St Malo Friendship Nat to make the Top 20, previously the bird was placed 2nd Club, and 162nd Open NIPA Talbenny and timed as well from Penzance. The partners also bred the 3rd Open NIPA Penzance Classic winner for O Fitzpatrick & Son also of Gilford & Dist the best Peter Fox of the Syndicate Lofts (Wales) Golden Gaby lines. Club members won both the NIPA St Malo Nat and the Kings Cup from Plaudren, best wishes to Tom Wilson and Dan Campbell from all the members in Gilford & Dist – It was indeed a season to remember. I had previously listed the Fitzpatrick team as winning 2nd Open in the Penzance Classic, 1st Sect E & 2nd Open was indeed won by J Brown of Chimney Corner, sorry about that Joe. John & Viv Abernethy from Ballynahinch had a fantastic weekend winning 1st & 2nd Open EDC Skibbereen Y/B Derby, the first of two events from this point.Their latest winner has been named "G-Mac" with reference to Graeme McDowell. He is bred from their Gaby Vandenabeele family and has already been a previous winner this season of 1st Club, 10th Section & 25th Open Tyone Mills and has now won 1st Open E.D.C. Skibbereen Derby. 2nd Open is "Miss Emma" this Cheq hen is bred from their new strong team of Van-Olmen pigeons, which they purchased from Colin Gibson. This hen was 5th Club Tyone Mills beaten by 4 loft mates.

Members & Friends of Ballymena are also reminded they are entitled to nominate a bird also to compete for £100. Nomination to be received, at the latest by marking night.
Ballymena Ring Nom Fermoy Open (RPRA Licence IR05/11) will take place the week after Talbenny Derby. Price this year will be £5 per bird (no limit). Rules and prize distribution will be same as for other years. Ring numbers & Entry fees to be received on or before close of race marking on Friday night 9th September 2011.

Another very good race last weekend from Fermoy, birds were released at 10.00am in a North Westerly wind. It was a case of good returns again after a steady fly from the 200 mile event, best locally was Surgenor Bros who timed three birds in as many minutes to take the first three in Kells & Dist. Their winner was timed at 2.17pm to record velocity 1379 and this with the second bird takes 1st & 2nd in the Mid Antrim Combine.

What a season it has been for Gilford & District RPC the latest success coming for J & D Breen who timed their yearling Black Cheq cock at 21.12hrs flying 14 hours in the St Malo Friendship Nat to make the Top 20, previously the bird was placed 2nd Club, and 162nd Open NIPA Talbenny and timed as well from Penzance. The partners also bred the 3rd Open NIPA Penzance Classic winner for O Fitzpatrick & Son also of Gilford & Dist the best Peter Fox of the Syndicate Lofts (Wales) Golden Gaby lines. Club members won both the NIPA St Malo Nat and the Kings Cup from Plaudren, best wishes to Tom Wilson and Dan Campbell from all the members in Gilford & Dist – It was indeed a season to remember. John & Viv Abernethy from Ballynahinch had a fantastic weekend winning 1st & 2nd Open EDC Skibbereen Y/B Derby, the first of two events from this point.Their latest winner has been named "G-Mac" with reference to Graeme McDowell. He is bred from their Gaby Vandenabeele family and has already been a previous winner this season of 1st Club, 10th Section & 25th Open Tyone Mills and has now won 1st Open E.D.C. Skibbereen Derby. 2nd Open is "Miss Emma" this Cheq hen is bred from their new strong team of Van-Olmen pigeons, which they purchased from Colin Gibson.
