Mid Antrim Lofts win 1st & 2nd in the Penzance Grand National
Penzance turned out the usual hard test, on a good flying day and helping wind the birds made hard work in the conditions and although the early arrivals made good time only around two dozen birds made home lofts in the Muckamore Centre. The best bird was timed by Simon Millar of Randalstown at 15.26hrs recording velocity 1417 for the 323 miles followed by Blair & Rankin from Ballymena & Dist who timed at 15.38hrs flying 328 miles. These lofts will fill the top two places in the Mid Antrim Combine. Best in East Antrim was A & N Lewis of Doagh & Dist who timed at 15.28hrs flying 319 miles followed by the Ballyclare lofts of Andy Gault having a best ever season, C & L Woodside former winners of the race and Billy McClelland of Doagh.
