Yet another fantastic return rate for this Car Race Hot Spot 3 from 189 miles. These figures represent a 96% return rate which is exceptional in this type of race and the Race Director (Zandy Meyer), Loft Managers, Corey Naude (convoyer) and other convoyers, drivers and all the other loft staff should get a big pat on the back for these remarkable return figures. Roll on Car Race Hot Spot 4 from 215 miles and then Car Race Hot Spot 5 from 243 miles. GOOD LUCK TO ALL CONCERNED.
Two other guys that keep us all informed during every race by continually updating the web site with the important information and results are Michael Holt and Pieter Saayman. Without your hard work and efforts during these Training Races and Car Race Hot Spots keeping the world up to date with returns during the races. WELL DONE TO BOTH OF YOU.
Three others worthy of a mention must be Marion Branford, Joan-e Holt and Deirdre Kallmeyer as all these ladies do a fantastic job, with Marion keeping all the accounts and other office work up to date and Joan-e who arranges a lot of the hotel and all function bookings some transfers, plus Deirdre from African Olive Concepts who also arranges and books fanciers into the hotels and arranges transfers for many of the visitors who want to travel over from abroad or just come down for the race weekend. Without your help and assistance of these girls the race weekend would not go as smooth as it does. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, WE CAN’T DO WITHOUT YOU.

A further week of daily training under their belts and the official basketing list appeared on the SCMDPR web site on Saturday 17th December 2011 for CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3, which was due to take place on Sunday 18th December from 304km (approx. 189 miles) and this showed a total of 4,229 pigeons were competing (yet another record entry for this race) and this figure included 3,596 International, which included 337 from the United Kingdom and 46 from Ireland, plus 633 pigeons from South Africa. The liberation then took place at
05-20 in clear, fine and hot conditions, 21c (70f), with little to no wind and a good race was anticipated by the loft managers and Zandy Meyer (Race Director). A slightly later report showed a light head wind, 24c (75f) and clear conditions. A midday forecast at Sun City showed 31c (88f) with clear conditions and little to no wind. The weather on Sunday was perfect for many of the night outers to make it back to the lofts during the day.

The clock was left on Monday to record pigeons and they started rolling in from 05-45 and 3,907 had been clocked by 08-42, then 3,962 by 10-25, then 4,047 by 14-42 and finally 4,060 had returned by 19-08, leaving just 169 to make it back to base camp. A further 20 pigeons returned to the lofts, making 4,080 in total, with now only 149 to return.
It should also be mentioned that after the early losses Car Race Hot Spot 1 from 121 miles showed a 100% return rate, whilst Car Race Hot Spot 2 from 160 miles showed a 95% return rate.
*** BRAND NEW MOTOR CAR WINNER*** for CAR RACE HOT SPOT 3 went to GRIBBLES CHOICE from the UNITED KINGDOM with pigeon named GRIBBLES CHOICE TWO, bred by PHILLIP (SPIKE) BOND from TORQUAY, he also won 1st OPEN RPRA ONE LOFT RACE IN 2011 AND A COOL £20,000. Well done to Sunny Lofts with a pigeon bred by Alistair Hogg from Winchburgh representing the UK Team for taking 22nd Open with his pigeon named PEACHES.
