McConaghie Ken
The General Secretary of the Irish Homing Union Mr Ken McConaghie has passed away following a period of illness, a top administrator especially with the IHU he was also heavily involved with the East Down Combine (Chairman & Past President) and was a Life Vice-President of the Irish National Flying Club. I was speaking to him at the Charity Show in Lisburn during December a show that he had been associated with for many years and Chairman of the Charity Committee who have donated many thousands of pounds over the years, most to worthy local causes. Ken knew the rules from A to Z and will be sadly missed by his many friends in the sport across the whole of Ireland, with wife Betty they had an ace racing loft as well winning numerous prizes over many years racing in Ballylesson. The Big Man will be sadly missed, very sincere condolences to the family circle at this sad time.
