The Annual General Meeting for the Mid Antrim Combine will be held in the Harryville HPS Clubrooms, Antrim Road, Ballymena on Wednesday 14th March at 8.00pm sharp. The Agenda and Accounts have been sent to each member club and two Delegates from each club are permitted to vote on the business of the meeting.
The Cullybackey HPS lost two of its pigeon family in the last week, members and friends have expressed their sincere sympathy to Secretary Edrick Davidson on the passing of his father John in his 96th year. He had been in a bit of ill health over recent months and passed away peacefully at the Causeway Hospital. Although John had no connection with the pigeon sport he had three sons involved in the game, along with Edrick his brothers Leonard and Wilm who compete with Cullybackey and Rasharkin & Dist respectively. There was a large attendance at the funeral service in Cullybackey Methodist Church and the burial afterwards in Killymurris Presbyterian Church burying ground. Wil Kilpatrick was a former member of Cullybackey HPS and his Service of thanksgiving was also held in Cullybackey Methodist Church followed by burial in Craigs Parish Church burial ground. The sympathy of the local fancy goes to both families at this sad time.

The main item on the agenda at the recent Committee Meeting of the RPRA (Irish Region) held at the Clarion Hotel in Carrickfergus was the arrangements for the Queens Diamond Jubilee Race. Entry for the RPRA event is free limited to 5 Birds only per member/partnership. It will be flown in conjunction with the NIPA Penzance a one day race flown on Saturday 23rd June. As far a possible the race will be managed by the RPRA Committee who will nominate a list of fanciers to cover each area of the country both for collecting the Entry Form and after the race the Verification Cards. Full details will be published and it is hoped to have the Entry Form included in the NIPA Race Booklet. Those outside the NIPA can work through their own area contact and remember the Prize Money is £5,000 with £1,000 to the winner of 1st Open. John & Jay Tranter have supplied a Loft for a Nomination Prize, tickets are available from The Reddings at £1 each (max 5), something extra for the RPRA members to be thinking about. At the recent RPRA Council Meeting it was agreed that each local RPRA Region would be allocated free advertising for their race with 25 Diplomas printed for the winners and presentation Framed Photo for the overall winner.
