Last weekend, the fifth race of the young bird season the birds were competing from the new race point of Gowran Park Racecourse in Kilkenny. The big early local bird was in Harryville HPS where Matt Wray with just five birds competing timed the winner at 2.03pm 6 minutes clear flying 158 miles into the Moat Road. The pigeon was a gift bird from William McLean of Rasharkin, top Lambrecht bloodlines. Next best was Brian Swann & Son from Kells & Dist winning three in a row and the top four in the club plus 1st 2 Bird. McFall & McManus from Ballymena & District had 1st & 2nd club, five minutes clear of the next bird timing at 2.06pm to the lofts at Lisnevenagh Road.

Cullybackey Centre details – Club monies for the Talbenny Nat will be lifted on Wednesday 24th August at Cullybackey HPS Clubrooms between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Race marking at Cullybackey will be on Thursday 25th August between 3.30pm and 6.00pm and all ETS systems must be cleared of all races. T3 Clocks will be ready after lorry leaves Cullybackey Centre.
