It’s tough going from Fermoy -
An erratic race was flown at the weekend from Fermoy in Co Cork, helping conditions and high velocities all year we had the first real headwind and few lofts had more than half the entry back for clock checking. Conditions were good at the home end but less favourable in parts of Southern Ireland. We should have been in South Wales but this was put back for a week due to the weather in Wales over the whole of the weekend. Danny Dixon popped up with the big early bird for 1st MAC and almost topped the NIPA where almost 21,000 birds were competing. This Mealy Sticker Donckers was Bird of the Year in Ballymoney last season as a young bird and was a gift to Danny from Gary Gibson who has the best of this bloodline. Johnston Eagleson had the best bird in Ballymena doing velocity 1157 with a Busschaert.
