Just short of 5,500 birds competed from Fermoy last weekend liberation on Saturday was at 8.30am in a Lt NE wind, birds had been collected the previous night at Centres and Collection Stations. Best overall and topping Sect B was the Crumlin & Dist loft of McConville Bros, the loft to beat locally at the minute racing at Aldergrove. His yearling Cheq hen is Danny van Dyke racing as a widowhood hen most consistent with a number of prizes including the week previous, 1st Club, 3rd Sect B & 24th Open NIPA in the Yearling Hens Nat from Dunmanway.

Ahoghill complete weekend double -
Fermoy was flown same weekend as Penzance, a good opportunity to train up the birds for the France races over the next three weeks. Liberation was at 8.30am in a Lt NW wind, winners made good time but most lofts had birds missing at clock checking. Hard to work out why this was the case, it was pretty humid and the wind was not strong. Alan Darragh had the best bird in the Mid Antrim area doing velocity 1534 to finish 2nd Sect B, the Sect B winners McConville Bros from Crumlin topped the NIPA 5,500 birds recording velocity 1582 timed just after 12 Noon. Mr & Mrs Robinson going well recently in Ahoghill top the MAC on 1532 followed by the record breaker from Rasharkin & District J & M Milliken.

City of Derry Combine Fermoy Result
With the weather that was forecast and a light north westerly wind, a great race was anticipated into the northwest of Ireland today. The birds where liberated at 08:30 into clear skies and sunshine and the heat intensified throughout the day. The result for the Derry City Fed came down to just under two yards for the top spot today, where both lofts lost time on each of their birds before clocking. Regardless, a sticky enough race ensued for most in the town with the early birds arriving into the town around 12:30pm and the majority of the convoy not arriving until after 1.00pm. Well out in front clocking at 12:29pm is the hard to beat loft at present of Paul Maxwell, pulling out another great performance. Well done to all the winners in the clubs this week.

Liberation was at 8.30am in a Lt NW wind, winners made good time but most lofts had birds missing at clock checking. Hard to work out why this was the case, it was pretty humid and the wind was not strong. City of Derry Combine Fermoy Result
With the weather that was forecast and a light north westerly wind, a great race was anticipated into the northwest of Ireland today. The birds where liberated at 08:30 into clear skies and sunshine and the heat intensified throughout the day. The result for the Derry City Fed came down to just under two yards for the top spot today, where both lofts lost time on each of their birds before clocking. Regardless, a sticky enough race ensued for most in the town with the early birds arriving into the town around 12:30pm and the majority of the convoy not arriving until after 1.00pm. Well out in front clocking at 12:29pm is the hard to beat loft at present of Paul Maxwell, pulling out another great performance. Well done to all the winners in the clubs this week.
