Mid Antrim Update - Bertie Blair wins his second young bird race of the season in Ballymena & District timing at 11.51am for the 158 mile fly. Having been runner up in the Mid Antrim Combine for the past two weeks he secures the 1st Combine spot this week. Sire of the winning Blue Chequer hen is a Van Den Brande cock from Jackie Steele of Rasharkin and dam is Stefaan Lambrecht from Ian Gibb. Gowran Park was the 4th race of the young bird season and birds were released at the earlier time of 9.15am in a helping South West wind, lots of broken cloud over the route but despite that returns were excellent with most lofts reporting almost full returns.
