Clements is best in the Mid Antrim Combine –

Best in the Mid Antrim Combine this week is old hand Roy Clements of Harryvile HPS. A super days flying from an excellent fancier over the years taking eight positions in the Top 20 including 1st, 2nd & 3rd Combine. First bird a blue pied hen was clocked at 1:17 hrs for the 145 miles to the lofts on the Old Antrim Road. She was placed 5th club and 10th Combine last week from Fermoy. The sire is from his good Vermeerbergen pair from club-mate Keith Kernohan and the dam is a direct soontjen from Ray Forbes. The second bird clocked was a gay blue pied hen, sire is a brother to the first bird Vermeerbergen x Forbes Soontjen and dam is from a cock of the Forbes Soontjen x Keith Kernohan's Vermeerbergen hen. Third bird clocked a blue hen is from the old Forbes pair x Vermeerbergen pair

Muckamore HPS 5/87 – Sam Maginty 1577, 1558, S & J Bones & T Yates 1529, 1528, T Patterson & Son 1514, 1498, G Magill 1480, 1480. Best bird in the Antrim Area was timed by Sam Maginty the winner in Muckamore timed at 1.06pm to record velocity 1577 for the 140 miles.

Broughshane & District 3/29 – R Wylie 1538, 1421, M Neilly 1343, R Wylie 1327, 1326, M Neilly 1267, J Getty 903. Rober Wylie topped the club at 1.16pm flying 145 miles, had three other birds well placed.

Harryville HPS 5/91 – R H Clements 1525, 1518, 1517, K & K Kernohan 1515, R H Clements 1503, K & K Kernohan 1489, 1489, R H Clements 1481, J Rock 1480, R H Clements 1479. Super card for Roy Clements including the top three positions and best in the MAC. His Blue Pied hen a winner of 5th Club last week from Fermoy was timed at 1.17pm to record velocity 1525 for the 145 miles to the Old Antrim Road. The sire was from his good Vermeerbergen pair from Keith Kernohan while the dam was a direct Soontjen from Ray Forbes.

Cullybackey HPS 5/180 – J McNaghten & Son 1457, A Darragh 1446, 1421, C & R McIntyre 1405, 1401, J & J Greer 1391, 1387, D Robinson 1371. Two wins on the trot for Iain McNaghten who sent just the one bird that won 1st Club the week previous from Fermoy, well done.

Ballymena & District 4/58 – W & J Smyth 1406, G & A Eagleson 1376, G Bell 1363, Blair & Rankin 1363, G Bell 1363, G & A Eagleson 1358, 1291, 1270. William and Joe Smyth timed at 13.33hrs and win their first young bird race of the season with one from a kit from Jackie Traynor of Co. Durham.
