Pigeon Network

This weekend 32 members of the Derry Federation sent 98 birds to compete in the NIPA Young Bird National cross Channel race from Talbenny, approximately 240 miles to local flyers. With a predominately Westerly wind a very tough fly was on the cards and at the close of race only one pigeon was recorded in the Derry Fed. It was no surprise to learn that the only bird on the day was timed to Foyle members Danny and Gary Cooley who have been featuring in the Fed result almost every week. These fanciers set out their stall for channel flying and their result is well deserved.
