Obituary McMaster Tom – It is my sad duty to inform the fancy that Tom passed away on Sunday 8th March peacefully at home following a period of illness. A real character of Harryville he raced for many years in partnership with his brother Jackie scoring many top positions through to France including probably in a best season in 1975 winning 1st Sect & 4th Open NIPA Dinard Old Bird Derby with Scobie bred by club-mate Jim Cameron and collecting £1,000. They were a top loft in Harryville with the birds racing for fun into Alfred Street, they won numerous races and on at least one occasion Top Prize-winners in Harryville HPS when Campbell & Francey dominated locally. For a long time Tom helped out at the loft of G McGarry & Son and gave Stephen a hand in the early day auctions in Chimney Corner Football Club. Before being hit by illness he came faithfully to my loft each week and enjoyed picking out candidates for the weekend racing. He will be sadly missed. Sincere condolences to the family at this sad time brother Jack, Bobby, sister Jane and the wider family circle. The funeral service in Stevenson’s Funeral Home was followed by Interment in Ballymena Cemetary. Donations if desired for MacMillan Cancer Support c/o James Stevenson & Son, 30 Cushendall Road, Ballymena. Willie Reynolds HOMER.
