Subject: RE: Avian Influenza update
Colleagues
Following the suspicion of notifiable avian influenza, including initial laboratory results, in a holding in Clough, County Antrim, North of Ballymena, the Chief Veterinary Officer has taken the decision to take appropriate disease control measures. This includes the humane culling of the affected birds and introduction of Temporary Control Zones (TCZ) to mitigate for onward disease spread.
Full details of the scope and measures required within the TCZ can be found in the attached Temporary Control Zone Declaration
I would greatly appreciate you forwarding this information to your members.
Thank you for your ongoing support with proactive messaging regarding vigilance, early reporting of suspected disease and importance of maintaining good biosecurity measures during this crucial period.
Thank you in advance for your support. Kind regards Jim Blee
