Tommy Lowry-Was sorry to hear the sad news from, our Federation President Gerry Daly of the passing of ,Ex-Irish Sth Rd Federation Secretary and good friend Tommy Lowry on Thursday 13th May.Tommy was a founding member of the Sarsfield RPC in Ballyfermot. He was also a founding member of Celtic RPC and was its Secretary for a long number of years.Back in the 80'S and 90'S when there was anything up to 1,300 members in the Federation,Tommy was in the driving seat - Fed Sect.As Treasurer and Secretary of Donnycarney RPC we had a lot in common.Tommy always gave of his time so willìngly and generously to all the club officers in Dublin .It was a great honour to have worked alongside Tommy on the Fed committee for a numbèr of years. Back then everything had to be written down - no computers or mobile phones - old school.Have kept in touch with Tommy during his illness through his sister Betty and brother in law " pigeon fancier" Willie Keville who are good friends.Tommy died peacefull in PLC Nursing Home in Maynooth,he would have been 83 this coming November. His funeral will take place on Wednesday next 19th May at 11.30 AM in Ballyfermot Church. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him in the sport of pigeon racing. On their behalf,we send our heartfelt condolence to his three daughters Sandra in New York,Joyce & Errica. His three sons Derek,Ray & Thomas ,and all his family and friends. May he R.I.P.
