MR & MRS S BROWN WIN THEIR SECOND OPEN OF THE SEASON
A poor weather forecast for Saturday May 15th for the race from the Horse & Jockey in Co. Tipperary led the Combine weather committee to delay race marking until the Saturday evening with a race planned for the next day and with a light Northerly wind the birds were released at 9.15am on the 16th and the velocities reflected the light head wind .
Pride of place topping the open for a second time from the three races flown so far was the Dundonald partnership of M/M Brown of Dundonald on 1328ypm who had another super race with 4 birds in the open top 20 . In 2nd open was the veteran Ballylesson fancier John Patterson who had another good race and both 1st and 2nd open take the top two places in the West Section . Leading the East Section was the Bangor partnership of Reggie & David Moore at 3rd & 4th open with further two birds making the top 20 in the open .
Newtownbreda’s B Hogg & Sons continue their consistent performance with 5th & 6th open and
these are followed by the Annalong loft of K Rooney ,son & dtr who take 7th ,8th &9th Open and took the first 12 places in the Annalong club ,another outstanding performance from this partnership . The Open ,Section and Nominated result was :
