From the first channel race which is Talbenny, you are not permitted to have your own crates. Birds must be spread over crates.
This has been passed by the committee at a zoom meeting on Monday 24th May 2021.
The Inland OB National will be flown from Skibbereen. Your entry form in the rule book will say Barleycove please use this entry form & ensure you have the correct measurement on your entry form. Your Dard number must be printed on your entry form.
Two members from each club using a centre must stay and assist at the centre including loading the crates.
The price per crate for channel racing has increased to £13.00
Ref to the Castletown Race flown last Saturday
A large number of complaints have been received regarding the condition of their pigeons when they returned home from Castletown
Their pigeons were cramped on landing and their droppings loose and green, their overall condition was not acceptable
The committee investigated the race on Monday at their Zoom meeting
Their unanimous conclusion is that the pigeons were without water for too long a period
The pigeons were not watered until between 3 and 4pm when the transporters arrived on site
The convoyer will be instructed to water the pigeons at daylight on the second day ie where the transporters park overnight. The pigeons will have to be watered first thing and the transporters will not be allowed to travel on to their destination until watering is completed
Arriving on site the birds will be fed and watered the water will stay on the crates until liberation
The Vice Chairman Mr Pat McLoughlin will liaise with the convoyer Mr P McNeice give him the new procedure and hopefully this will never happen again.
Please feel free at any time to complain about the condition of your birds on arrival home. Regards Fred.
