ANNALONG PARTNERSHIP 1ST OPEN TALBENNY
The East Down Combine were in Talbenny in Wales on the weekend of 3th/ 6th June for the first of he 2021 cross channel races . The weather on Saturday June 5th was not suitable for a liberation so it was Sunday June 6th at 1030am that the birds were up into a light Northerly wind The race saw the top three birds record velocities just breaking the 1300ypm mark with the rest of the open placed birds all in the 1200’s . Pride of place this week goes to the Annalong partnership of Kevin ,Christopher & Keeva Rooney who are having a great season and to date their impressive open results include 10th ,11th ,12th 13th and 16th Tullamore , 7th ,8th & 9th Horse & Jockey , 3rd 7 5th Mallow and 11th & 13th Skibbereen .
John Patterson of Ballylesson is still at the top of his game and is 2nd open with a further 4 birds in the Open result and at over 90years young must rank as one of the top fanciers in the country .
3rd open was Dundonald’s Mark Foulis and we stay in Dundonald for 4th ,5th & 6th & 9th to another loft in top form that of Stephen & Mrs Brown who already have two 1st open Combine results to their credit this year from Mullingar and Horse & Jockey .
