The acid test was always going to come at some point, and it arrived on sat in the shape of stiff north
/ north west winds, throw in some mist and fog with reports of the odd rumble of thunder and you
get the race for only the brave!
I have to say I’m very pleased to report our second open winner in three weeks flying the flag for the
EAA also.
This week’s very worthy winners are Horner Bros & Son of Ballyclare.
Winning your club in conditions like we had would be great but furthermore section c EAA and the
NIPA open with 23,000+ birds out is simply outstanding.
The 2year old Koopman/D&J Campbell cock has been in the prizes now no less than three times and
has been flying well for the lads, the father of this cock topped the section from Talbenny, he was
racing on the roundabout system, and I’ve been assured he is now retired.
A very modest Mr Horner when I spoke to him on the phone, I told him then and I’ll say it again that
is an absolutely fantastic effort given the day it was a very big well done to you from all at the EAA.
The 2nd Fermoy was also our first pool race, and the winners are in one of the pictures so
congratulations to them as well with Geo Robinson scooping the top cut.
Well done to everyone across the country on yesterday’s race, it was a test indeed!
A mention also again to Hugh bigger who finished 2nd sec c 2nd open into the north road in Carrick ,
a loft on fire hammering in top class results, well done Hugh.
Congratulations

header and the first N.I.P.A. National Race from Skibbereen followed with a Fermoy on the same
date and therefore finishing another chapter of racing with the first channel race beckoning. I would
like to kindly ask for all club representatives/race secretaries within the covered sections of C, D, F &
G to contact myself to be included in my weekly Reports, With Club, Section & Open Winning
Photos, With the Winning Pigeons Info etc.

It was a very tough and testing race for everyone’s birds this week. Next week sees the first double
header and the first N.I.P.A.
Yours in Sport ,
