JOURNEY’S END - N.I.P.A NOTES – SECTIONS C, D, F, & G
With the two annual Dale Races flown, the next trip down the coast to Cornwall along with the
Inland Skibbereen Yearling National Race being flown on the same day. This Race was scheduled for
Saturday 15 th June due to unfavourable weather conditions the birds where hampered and travelling
on the Sunday 16 th for a Release on Tuesday the 18 th . A total of 370 Members sent 3,971 Birds to
Bude in North Cornwall England for the third channel race of the N.I.P.A. Old Bird Season. The Birds
were liberated at 8:00AM in a Light North/North East Wind at the liberation point.
CHANNEL DELIGHT FROM BUDE
The Winning Bird from the third Old Bird Channel Race belongs to R. Calvin & Daughter of Loughgall
H.P.S in Section E. Many Congratulations to G. Calvin & Daughter on claiming 1 st & 2 nd N.I.P.A. Open from the third Old
Bird Channel Race of the Season. Also, Many Congratulations to 3 rd Open D. Calvin of Bondhill Social H.P.S. in Section E.
That’s a great concession of Races from the channel with fanciers getting their experience under the wing with many being prepared for the French Calendar at the end of June.
SECTION C REPORT
The Winner of Section C (75/664) from Bude was K&D Hagans of Horshoe H.P.S. It was super result
for the partnership take pole position in their club including every race this season (38 Birds) while
taking home the accolade of 1st Section C from the Channel (664 Birds) and a terrific place in the
Open in 12 th Open N.I.P.A. (3,971) The Section C Winning pigeon has also Won 1 st Section C 12 th Open
N.I.P.A. He has now two wins from the channel. He is from ‘Mysterio’ little Comet x ‘Moonraker’
Both the Grandparents are bred by Dave Atkins.

The gruelling programme continued this week from bude where the weather gods decided to up the
wind speed and darken the skies, that being said the show must go on!
Winning the EAA this week are the ace partnership of K&D Haggans milbrook, Larne. Kate and Danny
race in Horseshoe HPS and what a season they are having they have won every race this season to
date (including Penzance) that is a terrific feat on its own, their bude winner also finished 1st section
C 12th open NIPA. This cock has now two wins on the water and is out of mysterio little comet x
moonraker this line has been winning for K&D week in week out! Both grandparents are bred by
Dave atkins!

winners of their club of Bangor (38 Birds) and also being won 1 st , 3 rd & 6 th Section F from the channel
race (265 Birds) The Moore’s Section Winners Sire is their Number 1 Breeder ‘Cuesters Cock’ when
paired to another top stock hen ‘Dakota 001’ these pigeons have produced generations of winners.
The Section Winner is a previous inland Section F Winner, his full sister was also their 3 rd Pigeon

Up next was the Annual Yearling Inland National Race held from Skibbereen in Co. Cork. This Race
like Bude was scheduled for Saturday 15 th June due to unfavourable weather conditions the birds
were hampered and travelling on the Monday 17 th for a Release on Tuesday the 18 th . A total of 261
Members picked their 20 Bird Limit Teams and sent 2,228 Birds through their allocated Centres. The
Birds were liberated at 9:30AM in a North/North East Wind at the liberation point.
The Winning Bird from the Skibbereen Yearling Inland National belongs to Jeff Greenaway of
Hillsborough & Maze H.P.S in Section D.
The National Winner has been named as ‘Well Deserved’ by Jeff. The Sire is ‘Rough Neck’ a 3 time 1 st
Club Winner & 2 times 1 st Section D Winner. Dam is a Full Sister to his top Racer & Breeder ‘Sure
Return’ ‘Well Deserved’ was raced on the roundabout system and was also 2 nd Club, 17 th Section D,

roundabout Cock and had previously won 7 th North Section from the INFC Skibbereen National. His
Sire is a Herman Cuester from Gregory McEvoy he was a steady racer winning numerous Section and
Open Prizes in the N.I.P.A. then put to stock. The Dam of the Section Winner was a gift bird from
Ronnie Williamson this pair has now bred 4 Club Winners.

paired to another top stock hen ‘Dakota 001’ these pigeons have produced generations of winners.
The Section Winner is a previous inland Section F Winner, his full sister was also their 3 rd Pigeon

SKIBBEREEN YEARLING NATIONAL WINNER ‘WELL DESERVED’ FOR GREENAWAY
Up next was the Annual Yearling Inland National Race held from Skibbereen in Co. Cork. This Race
like Bude was scheduled for Saturday 15 th June due to unfavourable weather conditions the birds
were hampered and travelling on the Monday 17 th for a Release on Tuesday the 18 th . A total of 261
Members picked their 20 Bird Limit Teams and sent 2,228 Birds through their allocated Centres. The
Birds were liberated at 9:30AM in a North/North East Wind at the liberation point.
The Winning Bird from the Skibbereen Yearling Inland National belongs to Jeff Greenaway of
Hillsborough & Maze H.P.S in Section D.
The National Winner has been named as ‘Well Deserved’ by Jeff. The Sire is ‘Rough Neck’ a 3 time 1 st
Club Winner & 2 times 1 st Section D Winner. Dam is a Full Sister to his top Racer & Breeder ‘Sure
Return’ ‘Well Deserved’ was raced on the roundabout system and was also 2 nd Club, 17 th Section D,
137 th Open 17,805 Birds from N.I.P.A. Roscrea. Many Congratulations to Jeff Greenaway on claiming 1 st N.I.P.A. National from the annual Skibbereen Yearling Inland National Race. Section Winner is a roundabout cock. His Sire is ‘Euro Greipel’ bred by Garret Hensey a Grandson of
Dirk Van Den Bulcks Famous ‘Greipel’ he was paired to a Dtr of their ‘Danny Cock’ & ‘Mario Hen’.

The Winner of Section G (29/334) from Skibbereen Yearling National was Donnelly Bros of Newry
City H.P.S. The Brothers win the 2 Sections from both races held with Channel and Inland Winners
(334 Birds) and a top podium finish in 3 rd N.I.P.A. National (2,228) The Section Winner is a
roundabout Cock and had previously won 7 th North Section from the INFC Skibbereen National. His
Sire is a Herman Cuester from Gregory McEvoy he was a steady racer winning numerous Section and
Open Prizes in the N.I.P.A. then put to stock. The Dam of the Section Winner was a gift bird from
Ronnie Williamson this pair has now bred 4 Club Winners.
