Champion Brookhaven Star

Winner of 1st South Section, 1st Open Skibbereen Old Bird National 2025.

Congratulations to Lee Duffy of the Blanchardstown Pigeon Club and his 2 year old Mealy Cock on winning the prestigious Skibbereen Old Bird National 2025.

Brookhaven Star is actually a 2023 late bred , raced on the roundabout system, having raced very consistently over the last couple of years. The Friday before the Skibbereen National, Brookhaven Star was 31st Open ISRF Pilmore Beach out of 8500 pigeons. Lee was also 5th South Section and 5th Open Skibbereen Old Bird National 2025.

At the Lisburn Marking Station, Lee Wilson of the Ulster Fed actually picked out and commented on the condition of Lee’s birds when putting them through.

The breeding of Brookhaven Star is primarily Patrick Boeckx, in particular the Sagan lines. This strain is proving very successful for Lee with a Nest Mate of the Mealy Cock being 6th Open ISRF Barleycove in 2024.

Lee only started racing on his own in 2023, having raced previously with his Dad and Brother. Lee’s advice to novices is to get a young bird kit off a top fancier, learn from the fanciers in your club, take your time and believe in your birds. Dreams can come true .

Photo attached is of Brookhaven Star being held by Lee Duffy. Also included is Val Flood of the the INFC Management Committee who verified Brookhaven Star.
