MARKEY THE ‘BORN IDENTITY’
This week in the N.I.P.A. Racing calendar seen a first double header and the first National Race. The N.I.P.A. race controllers made the great decision in bringing forward both races a day early as the weekend was forecasted with bad weather. On Thursday the Cloughmartin 2 Race was scheduled for hampering in members Clubs. A total of 482 Members sent 12,963 Birds to Cloughmartin in County Tipperary. On Friday the 23rd of May the Birds were liberated at 07:30AM in a Light West/Northwest Wind.
The Open Winning Bird from the sixth Old Bird Race of the 2025 Season belongs to Owen Markey of Ballyholland H.P.S in Section G.
Owen’s Cloughmartin 2, 1st Open Winner GB24 B 20642 has been named ‘Born Identity’ The newly crowned Open Winner is bred from a son of "627" x "Miss Vervoort" when paired to a daughter of "De Guss" x "97 hen"
Owen had a great team performance in Winning 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th N.I.P.A. Open
2nd Open Winner is bred by Kevin & Kristopher Rooney, Annalong from a brother to "511" x a daughter of "De Zot" from Luc & Nicole Vervoort
3rd Open Winner is from "Pencil Sagan" x " 755"

Winky Wins the ever-competitive Ligoniel Club from Cloughmartin 2 (507 Birds) while also topping one of the Biggest Sections in the NIPA (1,488 Birds) and Overall in the N.I.P.A. Open achieved a result of 28th N.I.P.A. Open (12,963 Birds)
