Young & McManus & Sons Of Ahoghill Best From Corrin
The Corrin and 5 Bird duplicated races were flown on Sunday 8th June, the same day as channel race from 2nd Dale. Birds were liberated at 8.00am in west south westerly winds. Paddy & William McManus of Ahoghill timed the best bird in the local area to win 1st Mid Antrim Combine on 1602. The partnership clocked at 11.46am flying 205 miles to the Croft Lofts in Ahoghill. Their winning yearling blue hen was gifted to them by Gerry Reynolds of Belfast and is a granddaughter of 'Mystique'.
Harry Boyd of Kells was runner up in the Combine on 1582 with a 2yo blue Soontjen cock followed by Geoff Surgenor of Kells on 1571 and the Broughshane winner Marcus Morrow on 1569. The parents of Marcus's winner were Jan Vereychen from Fred Simpson.
Johnston Eagleson & Sons were best in Ballymena & District on 1561 with 'Blue 08' a 2yo blue hen. This hen was runner up for Mid Antrim Combine bird of the year last season beaten by 1 point. The sire was a gift from Paddy & William McManus of Ahoghill and is Van den Brande x a daughter of Danny Dixon's Champion Heartbreaker while the dam is a self bred Hereman Ceuster x Van Den Bulck.
Rock & Moore were best in Cullybackey on 1554 with the same 3yo blue pied hen that topped the Combine from the Dunmanway OB Inland National a fortnight ago. Sire a Jacobs x Vandenbulck cock bred from their Delaney stock and dam 'Elizabeth' 1st Open Nipa Penzance and 1st Open Penzance OB Classic for Jimmy in 2017. Harold Cubitt won both Corrin and the 5 Bird races on 1549 with a yearling widowhood cock bred down from stock obtained from Gerald Delaney.

The Corrin and 5 Bird duplicated races were flown on Sunday 8th June, the same day as channel race from 2nd Dale. Birds were liberated at 8.00am in west south westerly winds. Paddy & William McManus of Ahoghill timed the best bird in the local area to win 1st Mid Antrim Combine on 1602. The partnership clocked at 11.46am flying 205 miles to the Croft Lofts in Ahoghill. Their winning yearling blue hen was gifted to them by Gerry Reynolds of Belfast and is a granddaughter of 'Mystique'.
Harry Boyd of Kells was runner up in the Combine on 1582 with a 2yo blue Soontjen cock followed by Geoff Surgenor of Kells on 1571 and the Broughshane winner Marcus Morrow on 1569. The parents of Marcus's winner were Jan Vereychen from Fred Simpson.
Johnston Eagleson & Sons were best in Ballymena & District on 1561 with 'Blue 08' a 2yo blue hen. This hen was runner up for Mid Antrim Combine bird of the year last season beaten by 1 point. The sire was a gift from Paddy & William McManus of Ahoghill and is Van den Brande x a daughter of Danny Dixon's Champion Heartbreaker while the dam is a self bred Hereman Ceuster x Van Den Bulck.
Rock & Moore were best in Cullybackey on 1554 with the same 3yo blue pied hen that topped the Combine from the Dunmanway OB Inland National a fortnight ago. Sire a Jacobs x Vandenbulck cock bred from their Delaney stock and dam 'Elizabeth' 1st Open Nipa Penzance and 1st Open Penzance OB Classic for Jimmy in 2017. Harold Cubitt won both Corrin and the 5 Bird races on 1549 with a yearling widowhood cock bred down from stock obtained from Gerald Delaney.
