MID ULSTER FEDERATION – 2ND TRAMORE

The Mid Ulster Federation returned to Tramore on Friday 15th May for the second race from the venue, with another tremendous turnout of 2,017 birds sent by 51 members across the four federation centres.
Birds were liberated at 11:30am into a northerly wind which once again produced a testing race and excellent competition right throughout the federation result.
Taking top honours this week and winning 1st Federation was Glen Buckley & Son of Hoggs Centre with a superb blue cock recording a winning velocity of 1364.03 ypm. The Hoggs partnership produced an outstanding performance against very strong competition and fully deserved their federation success.
2nd Federation went to the ever consistent David Calvin of Hoggs Centre, who once again dominated the federation sheet with another exceptional team performance.
3rd Federation was also secured by David Calvin, underlining the tremendous strength currently being shown from the Hoggs Centre.
HOGGS CENTRE
Hoggs once again produced remarkable depth throughout the federation result with G Buckley & Son leading the way. David Calvin filled multiple top federation positions while Stevie Eglington continued his excellent early season form. Ronnie Williamson, Capper Bros, Philip Boyd, R Calvin & Daughter, and RGG Donaldson also featured strongly throughout a highly competitive centre result.
ARMAGH CENTRE
Armagh Centre was topped by Kelly Bros with a superb performance in difficult northerly conditions. Gerard & Keith Stevenson continued their brilliant run of consistency with another outstanding federation performance after last week’s 1st Federation win. A Geraghty once again featured prominently while P Duffy, G & A Campbell and R Parkes & Son all recorded strong performances throughout the result.
BLEARY CENTRE
Bleary Centre was won by W McDowell with an excellent pigeon recording 1328.62 ypm. G & S McMullan again featured heavily in the federation positions following their excellent performances in recent weeks, while Sammy Ogle, D & K Mallan, Eddie McAlinden and C Duke & Son all clocked well in testing conditions.
MEADOWS CENTRE
Lee Smyth once again headed the Meadows result with the same outstanding Slatey Hen that has now produced top performances week after week. Geoff Douglas recorded an excellent second place in the centre while Alan Larkin & Sons, Joe Brown, Matt McCabe, Larkin Bros and Aidan Mallon all featured throughout another competitive Meadows result.
CENTRE LEAGUE UPDATE
Hoggs Centre continue to lead the overall Centre League after another dominant weekly performance, while Armagh, Bleary and Meadows all continue to score strongly as competition between the centres intensifies each week.
The Mid Ulster Federation would once again like to thank all members, convoying staff, race officials, result teams and everyone working behind the scenes each week to keep the federation moving forward.
The support, birdage and competition being shown throughout the federation this season has been outstanding and continues to highlight the strength of racing within the Mid Ulster Federation.
