Race four was another afternoon release, the NIPA birds returned to Roscrea in Co Tipperary and liberated at 1.15pm in a west, north west wind. It turned out a bit more difficult than the week previous and despite a very good evening a number of birds were missing at night. Simon Millar who just started racing in 2006 had the best birds locally in Mid Antrim, two arrivals at 4.36pm filled the top two places in MAC. The winner Van De Were/Soontjen lines a Dark Cheq hen was the best from good friend Timmy Mawhinney, the second bird a Blue hen was Hartog of A & M Kerr. Both birds were doing velocity 1225 flying 140 miles. Simon is having a best ever season in the Premier OB Nat from St Malo he topped both Comb & Sect and finish 6th Open NIPA. Surgenor Bros won for the third time in Kells & Dist followed by McFarlane & Agnew and Allen McBride returned to winning ways in Harryville followed by Roy Clements.

In the second race from Roscrea it was another close finish in the Coleraine Triangle Leslie Madden won 1st Coleraine Premier doing velocity 1132 and in different conditions has the best bird for the second week. Hanson & Harper from the same club were runner-up followed by Horner & Scott 1st Windsor Social (1126) and Terence McCrudden 1st Coleraine & Co Derry (1119).

For the second week at Roscrea the result is dominated by one loft, Nelson Weir of Loughgall has the Top 10 a fantastic result on a stiff day. The top two into Armagh are well placed for P Duffy and A Geraghty and Paddy Grew has 1st Charlemont.

Simon Millar with the top two in Randalstown is best in Mid Antrim Combine, followed by Surgenor Bros winning Kells for the third time.

In the second race from Roscrea the best birds into East Antrim were timed by the Glengormley team of David Campbell and Hugh Bigger, two birds together record velocity 1333 followed by G & M Atcheson. They should top the NIPA Sect C and will be well placed in the NIPA Open result. Next best were in Ligoniel & Dist where the winners were the partnership of Graham McManus & Mullen doing velocity 1296 followed by Bingham & Seaton and Calderwood & Waite. Beggs & Hall were best into Larne winning the big Larne & District with over 800 birds competing and Mr & Mrs Robinson take 1st in both Carrick Soc and Carrick & District.

North Coast Classic – One Loft Race
Birds were liberated at 10:35am Sunday 8th August in Mullingar in a light south-west wind. The weather was perfect and the birds cleared fast. Weather reports from Coleraine to Mullingar have been beautiful sunshine. The birds cleared well and a fast race was expected. Convoyers were Robert Montgomery and John Edgar.
Unfortunately at the closure of the ETS system only 381 birds had arrived to the loft. 435 were liberated. Birds are still arriving to the loft and an update will follow. An additional 10 have arrived and we will post the final numbers tomorrow.
First place was taken by Harmony Loft Venture. This results in 2nd onwards being paid the prize-money. Congratulations to Scrubs Grub, who took first place. Second place went to The 3 Macs. Third place went to D Farrell.Fourth place went to Kingwswood Syndicate. Fifth place went to A&J Strawbridge.

In the second race from Roscrea the best birds into East Antrim were timed by the Glengormley team of David Campbell and Hugh Bigger, two birds together record velocity 1333 followed by G & M Atcheson. They should top the NIPA Sect C and will be well placed in the NIPA Open result. Next best were in Ligoniel & Dist where the winners were the partnership of Graham McManus & Mullen doing velocity 1296 followed by Bingham & Seaton and Calderwood & Waite. Beggs & Hall were best into Larne winning the big Larne & District with over 800 birds competing and Mr & Mrs Robinson take 1st in both Carrick Soc and Carrick & District.

North Coast Classic – One Loft Race
Birds were liberated at 10:35am Sunday 8th August in Mullingar in a light south-west wind. The weather was perfect and the birds cleared fast. Weather reports from Coleraine to Mullingar have been beautiful sunshine. The birds cleared well and a fast race was expected. Convoyers were Robert Montgomery and John Edgar.
Unfortunately at the closure of the ETS system only 381 birds had arrived to the loft. 435 were liberated. Birds are still arriving to the loft and an update will follow. An additional 10 have arrived and we will post the final numbers tomorrow.
First place was taken by Harmony Loft Venture. This results in 2nd onwards being paid the prize-money. Congratulations to Scrubs Grub, who took first place. Second place went to The 3 Macs. Third place went to D Farrell.Fourth place went to Kingwswood Syndicate. Fifth place went to A&J Strawbridge.
