One of the top sales of the season in the winter of 2010 will be on behalf of the Beattie Family and the late Henry Beattie who was a pigeon legend in his lifetime. He had one of the best long distance lofts in Ireland and race records to match, one of the very few to win both the INFC Friendship Nat and the Kings Cup from France. Henry has blended his old Harkness bloodlines with pigeons from Kings Cup winners Davie Black and Alan Darragh plus National Champions C & L Woodside. The present team are about the best he has ever had over the last 50 years and will leave their mark in the years to come. The sale of his birds will take place in Glenavy on Saturday 23rd October and one week later at the same venue. Remember the dates 23rd and 30th October, it will be packed out. I have an update report for the INFC Penzance, thanks again to all who assisted including Brendan McLoughlin who was a tower of strength, and supplied excellent contributions.
G & L Simpson Ligoniel & District 6th North section 6th Open
I met up with Old Hand Geordie at the Emerald Classic final race and he was pleased to hear he collected most cash in the race at £1721, only three birds away he timed at 15.38hrs flying 310 miles. He started racing in the Brookfield in 1963 and then later joined the Ligoniel & Dist when they themselves were with the Ulster Federation. His eyesight is not the best and he relies on brother Leslie to carry out loft duties, his Black Cheq cock bred from all his old bloodlines gave the loft a best ever result. The bird flew the programme and had been timed in the Fermoy 5 Bird.
Russell Bros Cullybackey HPS 8th North section 8th Open
Russell Bros in Cullybackey have been on the go as long as I can remember, Len and Bill are both retired now and have a lot more time to enjoy the birds. In the good old days the loft won the NI Fancier of the Year award and can still race a good bird from any distance. Last year they came very close to winning St Malo Nat finishing 1st Sect B & 3rd Open NIPA with a single entry. Russell Bros timed their young Blue hen at 4.09pm flying 331 miles sent to Penzance racing Roundabout. She flew the first six races and then the Tullamore Comeback event. The sire was presented by James Anderson, a local club-mate and good friend over the years. Not surprising he contained the very best of the lofts long distance family which have scored at the distance especially France over many years. Parents of the dam were Verheye purchased from John Wheatcroft of Notts in England. What a record this bird has, 12th North Sect & 15th Open Yearling Nat in 2008 and then last year 3rd Open NIPA St Malo, total winnings over £1,800. They have bred a lot of good birds from this Verheye line obtained from John, both he and Len have a fantastic interest in Eyesign.
Tony Simpson Rasharkin & Dist 9th North section 9th Open
Tony Simpson is President of the local club, his lofts located behind the house on the Main Street and close to Jim Lennox who gives him a hand and is good pigeon company. Jim of course is a former winner of Penzance YB Nat, his “Belmont Blue” the winner in 1994 the season the late Henry Beattie won the Kings Cup with “Laurel Queen” For Tony who achieved a best ever result it was a dream come true, his Blue cock he has named “Church View Lad”. The bird had most of the programme including Talbenny and Fermoy winning 3rd Comb, 5th Sect & 19th Open in the 5 Bird Classic. He was flying to his hen sitting eggs, the weekly training paid off.
Carroll Reynolds Beech Park Social 10th North section 10th Open
Carroll Reynolds races with the new Beechpark Club in Lurgan, he recorded velocity of 1261 flying 301 miles with a Blue cock. The sire is one of the old Horn Busschaert’s x Flor Engels cross which won three first clubs as a young bird and then put to one side. He is on the small side and although lightly bred off has produced several first prize winners down Ireland. The dam is a Staf Van Reet and was a gift from Willie Smith of Dumfries. Willie had these birds from Jimmy Dalglish, a SNFC winner with Tranquility Boy. Carroll don't often send young birds to Penance as he thinks it is too far but this year had started racing 38 y/b's and hadn't lost any. He made a last minute decision to send six. In fact they had been in Castlebellingham that morning on Ivan Mawhinney's transporter. The Blue cock, a Darkness youngster, he was sent sitting eggs about ten days. He got a second bird which just missed the result which is from a sister of the 10th Open winner. He thanked all helpers and officials involved at the marking stations, without them no race would be possible.
South Section Penzance YB National
In the early part of this particular race you never can tell how the race will develop and if the longer flying lofts can make up time on birds timed earlier on the day. The early bird into Dublin was timed by Noel Deegan who races in Finglas at 1.56pm flying 231 miles. He records velocity 1246 to take 1st Irish SR Fed, 1st South Sect & 18th Open INFC. Next best were Billy Harris & Son racing in Dublin NE recording velocity 1231 for the 227 miles finishing 2nd ISRF, 2nd South Sect & 28th Open INFC. This game little Blue hen flew every race in the ISRF program up to Talbenny where she was the lofts 3rd bird home. After this race she took to a cock and went to the YB National on eggs. She is 100% Willy Van Herck breeding coming down from the lofts of P & J Boal, Dromore Co Down. The sire is a yearling Blue cock bred by Philip and he is a 1/2 brother to a East Down Combine winner 7000 + birds, 1/2 brother to 1st Club, 1st Sect D, 13th Open NIPA. Also uncle to 1st Club, 3rd Sect D, 12th Open NIPA, both races had 20,000 + birds. The dam also a yearling was bred by Billy from stock obtained from Philip who has the best.
Paddy Rock and son Martin race to the Skerries and this is another loft ever present in the INFC results, they had the next two arrivals. The young bird that was 1st East Coast Fed, 3rd South section, 29th Open INFC Penzance is a hen sent sitting. She was 23rd East Coast Fed Talbenny, 6th IHUNFC Talbenny before the National. Her breeding is half JL Roberts Delbar from P & C Jones of Derbyshire. The Dam is a daughter of their Hall Of Fame winner Little PJ when he was paired to a Jimmy Anderson hen.
The young bird that was 2nd East Coast Fed, 4th South section, 35th Open INFC Penzance was also sent sitting. She was 24th East Coast Fed, 7th IHUNFC Talbenny before the national. Her breeding is also half Delbar. The dam is from P & C Jones from Derbyshire and the sire was the lofts Single Bird Challenge pigeon last year who was 4th INFC Sennen Cove Yearling national in 2007, then 38th INFC Kings Cup Vannes 2010. They sent their thanks to Peter Jones of Derbyshire for supplying half the breeding of the two hens.
Gregg Bros & McCandless Ligoniel & District 1st, 2nd & 8th Open Old Hens
When this card arrived at Muckamore Centre we knew immediately it would take some beating, the partners had timed five old hens and finished Best in the Centre. The three birds placed in the Top 10 were timed at 15.20pm, 15.46pm and 15.54pm, flying 311 miles, the winner recorded velocity 1334. For good measure all five birds were placed in the result, 1st, 2nd, 8th, 16th and 27th – what a card! The partners have been household names for years, starting at Shankill & Dist and then moving to Ligoniel & Dist, an ace racing loft in the Ulster Federation. The bird that won this season was 6th Open in the same race in 2009 season, it’s a race that Paul & Steven have mastered despite the many problems getting old hens prepared. All the birds timed are from good friends Ron Williamson and Frank & Ann Tasker, they would like to thank both lofts for supplying the parents and grandparents of all birds timed.
Alan Darragh Cullybackey 7th Open Old Hens
Alan Darragh is ever present and a former winner of this event. Only sent two birds this time and his Blue Cheq yearling had been in the prizes in Penzance earlier in the season and was flown with the young birds sent to a few of the early races. The bird was timed at 16.18hrs and recorded velocity 1238 for the 329 miles good enough for 1st Mid Antrim Combine. How many of those has he not won racing with the INFC?
Stewart Bros Randalstown 10th Open Old Hens
Top competitors at the distance the Stewart Bros from Randalstown are always pleased to record an arrival in the major races. Last season they won a Hall of Fame Diploma for the second time and it was the first occasion the winning bird was the same way bred as the previous winner. Their bird this time, the second arrival into Mid Antrim was timed at 16.18hrs recording velocity 1222 and flying 325 miles to The Grange just outside Toomebridge. This yearling Blue hen was prepared with just private training to the coast, four tosses in all and sent to the race feeding a 7 day youngster. She raced steady as a young bird and was through to Bude in the old bird season winning some minor prizes. She is a full sister to the lofts Tullamore 1st Sect winner, the sire Grondelaer, and dam Soontjen, a very good mix.
South Section Penzance Old Hen’s National
The best bird in the South Sect was P Rock & Son from the Skerries, they had a fantastic Penzance. The hen which was 1st East Coast Fed, 11th Open INFC Old Hens National is a yearling sent on week old young bird. She wasn't raced during the old bird season and darkened same time as the young birds. When the days began to get shorter her loft was put on summer time hours light which helped keep her moult in check. Her sire won the East Coast Fed from the Portsmouth Friendship National 2007 and her dam flew France for this very successful partnership.
For the second time in the 2010 season the lofts of Billy Cullimore from Wexford had major success flying in the INFC national. Billy pulled off a fantastic double with the old bird national from Skibbereen on the 25th of May when he was 1st & 2nd Open with 3,754 birds competing and remarkably finished 1st & 2nd Open once again in the young bird national on the 17th September with 3,927 pigeons competing and had 10 birds in the top 21 positions. This is Billy’s fourth national victory racing with the INFC, truly remarkable performances.
Details of birds:
1st Open IHU 10S 126345 ‘The Specialist’
The open winner has shown some form over the weeks leading to this race being placed in the results on three or four occasions. She was sent to the national paired and racing to a cock. Sire of ‘The Specialist’ is an 06 blue cock who won 2nd Open South Leinster Federation Derby. Grand sire is the winner of 3 x 1st clubs and 3rd open INFC yearling national 2002. He is also the grandsire of an IHU national winner from Skibbereen for Fred Malone Kilkenny. The Dam of ‘The Specialist’ is a 2009 blue hen. This hen was one of Billy’s best young birds last season and she is a daughter of ‘Stitch’ who was champion old bird of the year in the Wexford North & South Road Invitation Pigeon Club in 2005, 2006, 2007and runner up in 2008.
2nd Open IHU 10S 126380 ‘West Point Lad’
‘West Point Lad’ was Billy’s best young bird this year as it was placed seven times in the first eleven positions. ‘West Point Lad’ was also beaten for 1st place by loft mates and won the Wexford North & South Road Invitation Pigeon Club golden ring scheme. The sire of ‘West Point Lad’ is a 2001 red cock that is a winner of 5 x 1st clubs and was also winner of champion old bird of the year in the South Leinster Federation. The dam is a daughter of ’99’ cock.
5th Open IHU 10S 126302
The bird that finished 5th is bred from two 1st open national winners. The dam is a blue hen ‘Davy’s Girl’ who won 1st Open North Road National from Malinhead 212 miles. She is a daughter of ’99’ cock.
9th Open IHU 10S 126356
The sire of the 9th open winner was another great racer winning 3 x 1st’s. He also won 2nd Open 2006 INFC y/b national from Skibbereen. He is a son of ’99’ cock. The dam is a daughter of Clonard Lad and Davy’s Girl.

The bird that finished 10th was racing to hen and showed good form leading up to the race. Sire is the ’99’ cock. Winner of 3 x 1st Federations and won his last race from Skibbereen by 25ypm and was then put to stock. Dam is a daughter of Stitch.
All Billy’s birds are Staff Van Reets and Billy would like to thank Eamonn O Brien and Derek Cummins for all their help throughout the year.
3rd & 4th Open went to Brendan Smith also from Wexford who finished 9th Open in the Old Bird National on 25th May.
3rd Open IHU 10S 102705
The bloodlines of this hen are staff van reet. The sire of 3rd open is a first prize winner on a few occasions with many other top positions. He is a full brother to the ‘Power Ranger’ winner of 1st Open INFC skibbereen national 2004. The grandsire of 3rd open is GB 2002 N 16219 a direct Dean Pallet who is the sire of ‘Blue Power Ranger’.
4th Open IHU 10S 102618
The bloodlines of this hen are also Staff Van Reet. The sire of 4th open is IHU 05S 016115 who is a full brother to 1st prize winners. The Dam of 4th open is IHU 08S 43012 a sister to ‘Blue Power Ranger’. The grandsire of 4th open is GB 2002 N 16449 a direct Dean Pallet Van Reet. This cock is the sire of at least 5 x 1st prize winners. The grand dam is a mealy GB 2004 E another Van Reet from Dean Pallet. Thanks to Willie Hore for the Wexford report.
Liam Donnelly & Son Finglas 8th South Sect & 8th Open
Liam Donnelly & Son I had the pleasure of covering last season when the loft won the Yearling Nat, in this race they again have the first bird into Dublin to win 1st Irish SR Fed, 8th Sect & 8th Open recording velocity 1276 for the 177 miles. The bloodlines of the Cheq Tip hen are Peit Valk and a very special hen bred from a pair of direct Van De Berg birds, she has 2 x 2nd Fed and has been well placed in the Yearling Nat and Skibbereen. A Darkness bird she was racing to the perch. See Loft Report by Adie at http://www.pigeonnetwork.com
Brendan McLoughlin the PO from the South Down Federation has been fantastic help all season and has done various small reports, with the Skibbereen Nat dominated by South Sect lofts I thought it would be a good idea to cover the leading pigeons in the North Sect, Brendan duly obliged and this report will add to coverage of the race.
P Brown Annsborough 1st North section 41st Open
The pigeon winning the North Section now known as ‘Geraldine’s Delight’ was named after Patrick’s wife who is a great asset around the loft. The parents of this pigeon are on loan from Annalong’s K Rooney & Son, and Patrick asked me to record his thanks to Kevin and Kristopher for all the help they have given him over the past few years. The sire of the pigeon timed here won an East Down Combine Open from Durrow in 2003 and has bred quite a few winners for Kevin and Kristopher. The breeding is Staf Van Reet from Brownlee, Ward & Nee. The dam is a Janssen from a pair bought at McCormack and Schofield’s clearance sale in Blackpool in 2006. The Janssen pair are ‘Mr Mack’ and ‘Amazing Grace’ and what a superb pedigree they have, having bred numerous winners for McCormack and Schofield including ‘Double 500’ winner of 1st City of Leeds Fed two years in a row from 500 miles. They have also bred many prize-winners for the Rooney’s at Club, Fed and Combine level. This young cock was sent to this race on chipping eggs as were the other two birds he timed in the result at 117th and 118th North section, 221st and 222nd Open INFC.
D Croskery & Son Annsborough 2nd North section 49th Open
Dominic and Dolen make it a 1, 2 for the Annsborough club just outside Castlewellan in Co Down. They had four birds in the result, taking the following North Section and Open positions – 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th North Section and 49th, 79th, 89th and 115th Open. This was one of the best cards on the table on the day. Dominic and Dolen had a wonderful season at National level, winning a Hall of Fame in the King’s Cup, then winning the Robin Duddy Challenge from the Yearling National and Young Bird National and rounding the season off with this magnificent performance. Their first pigeon is off a Kees Bousa cock that they bought of John Gerard when paired to their good ‘01’ hen. ‘01’ is a daughter of the ‘Bolden’ cock and had positions from every Inland race in the club and has turned out to be a great stock hen. The pigeon timed here is the same way bred as one that was 1st Club, 3rd Fed 26th Open Tullamore earlier this year.
Mr & Mrs Stevenson Dromara 3rd North section 51st Open
This was another superb card for the Dromara partnership who timed their first pigeon at 3.52pm. They then had another four within 5 minutes and another shortly afterwards to give them 6 pigeons in the result at 3rd, 25th, 41st, 47th, 69th and 158th north section, 51st, 105th, 130th, 137th, 165th and 262nd Open. This result also gave them Best Average for the Old Bird Skibbereen National, and the Young Bird Skibbereen National, and winners of the ‘Gloria Hunniford Trophy’. This was certainly a loft in form as they were 5th Open NIPA Rosscarbery National the week before and had 15 birds in the Open result in the last 2 races of the season. This result is even more remarkable when it is considered that they started the season with only 33 young birds on the darkness and 6 naturals. The sire of their first pigeon timed here was 27th North section Old Bird Skibbereen National. The grandsire is a half Soontjens and was their 2006 NIPA Rosscarbery National winner, ‘Supreme Leader’. The dam is a Busschaert and is off the hen that won the silver diploma from NIPA Old Bird National from France. The pigeon timed here was a cock and was sent sitting on a day old youngster.
Glen Buckley & Sons Annaghmore 4th North section 58th Open
What another wonderful season this has been for G Buckley & Son racing out of the very competitive Annaghmore club. They are 4th north section, 58th Open here to add to an impressive list of National prizes this year which included 44th North section, 68th Open Old Bird Skibbereen, 9th, 18th and 79th North section, 11th, 22nd and 123rd Open Yearling National, 6th 64th, 111th, 164th North section, 7th, 76th, 141st, 200th Open Kings Cup, 4th, 51st, 59th North section, 8th, 60th,, 68th Open Friendship National and 91st, 131st, 152nd and 110th, 163rd, 190th Open Young Bird Penzance. The pigeon winning 4th North Section here is a half Soontjens from their own lines (its sire was 2nd Open Penzance Young Bird National) and a half Leo Van Ryan from Ken Darlington, Wales. These Van Ryans were brought in last year but this was the first time they were crossed. This bird is a hen that was sent flying to the perch and was very consistent throughout the season.
Spence Bros Lagan Valley 5th North section 62nd Open
This pigeon was the first Ulster Fed bird timed in the race to take 5th North section 62nd Open for Brian and Roy. The pigeon itself is a Blue cheq hen that was sent to this race sitting on eggs that were overdue. The breeding is Jos Thone with the sire being direct from Ian Stafford while the dam was a gift bird from B & H Spence (Brian’s brother). This young bird was brought to peak form for the latter races having been 1st Lisburn & District, 19th section and 30th Open in the NIPA Rosscarbery National the previous week.
N Black & Son Dromara 6th North section 67th Open
This is another loft that has had superb season with the Irish National Flying Club and they can’t have been too far away from the overall Nat Championship. The pigeon timed here is one of six obtained from Brandon, Culshaw and Brandon from Rochdale who won section L of the NFC three weeks ago from St Malo. The Rochdale partnership had got birds from the Blacks a few years ago, which did really well for them. They decided over the winter months to swap 6 young birds this year, as Davy and Alan were keen to try their Janssen and Soontjens in the longer young bird races. This has certainly worked as three of the six were timed in Nationals – 1 in Penzance and 2 in Skibbereen. The pigeon timed at 6th North section here was probably the most consistent of them all, having been 4th club Rosscrea and 5th club Fermoy. She was actually their first bird from Rosscarbery the week before but didn’t trap. She was sent to this race sitting on eggs and was given a youngster the night before basketing. This obviously made her keener as she wasted no time here.
Allan McDonald Portadown 7th North section 71st Open
Allan has had one of his best young bird seasons for a long time having topped the Portadown club on six occasions this year. In recent weeks he was 22nd Open from the Penzance Young Bird National. The young cock timed here was 1st Club, 17th section E (5137 birds) Rosscrea, and 1st club, 19th section (1063 birds) 178th Open(5054) birds in the NIPA National from Rosscarbery the week prior to the Skibbereen National. This youngster is bred from two direct Belgium pigeons from Scmit and Van Winkle who live near the famous Jos Soontjens. Alan is a regular visitor to the Dutch Show and when there he travels down to Belgium and buys a few birds. The sire and dam both have Dirk Van Dykk’s ‘Rambo’ and ‘Hannibal’ in their bloodlines. The young bird timed here at 7th North section was sent to Rosscarbery on chipping eggs and to Skibbereen on a 7-day-old youngster.
P Campbell & Sons Armagh 8th North section 72nd Open
This is another loft that was in peak form at the latter end of the season having won 3 races towards the end of the season. The pigeon timed here was a Vandenabeele hen bred as a gift bird by club mates E Murtagh & Son. Its nest mate was 8th Section in the 5 Bird Fermoy race. Its interesting to note that all three pigeons that won this year for Malachy were Vandenabeeles. This young bird was raced on the darkness and was keen on the nest but hadn’t actually laid so she was slipped an egg and was sent sitting to the National 17 days. Twenty minutes before basketing she was given a young bird, which she took to straightway.
D Croskery & Son Annsborough 9th North section 79th Open
This is the same loft that are 2nd North section in this race and the only loft in the North section with two birds in the top ten. Their second pigeon is a nest mate of their pigeon that was 1st South Down Fed, 1st East section and 12th Open East Down Combine from Skibbereen Derby. The dam is a direct Walter De Ryck, while the sire is a son of the cock that was 4th National Portsmouth. The De Ryck pigeons are only in the loft a couple of years now and have produced a host of prizewinners. The cock that was 4th National Portsmouth is down from Rodney & Jason Walker’s two National winners paired to one of their own De Klak pigeons.
Gordon Bros & Sons Killyleagh Central 10th North section 81st Open.
The Gordon’s have had a tremendous season with the East Down Combine and have taken numerous Open & Section positions. Their team of pigeons is based on the Vandenabeele family and it is indeed to the Vandenabeele that we go for the breeding of the pigeon at 10th North Section here. The sire is a direct M & D Evans and is a son of ‘Golden Gaby’. The dam is a Vandenabeele down from ‘Jester’and ‘Carrie’, M & D Evans’ top stock pair. The grand dam of the pigeon timed here was 3rd North Section, 5th Open in this race in 2002. This young bird is a cock that was sent paired but not sitting. It had been a consistent racer but hadn’t taken any major prizes before this.
Robert Shaw takes Top 3 in Penzance YB National
The Irish National Flying Club held their Young Bird Channel National from Penzance in Cornwall on Thursday 9th September. The race had been postponed from the Wednesday due to the inclement weather but the race team was quick to spot the bad weather approaching and so basketing was moved back from the Monday to Tuesday.
The birds were released at 8.30am in a light northwest wind and there were 2400 young birds from all over Ireland competing in this prestigious race. Word soon filtered through as the first of the pigeons were timed in the south and we all knew that we needed to get birds shortly after 3pm to be in with a chance of winning this National.
While the race was won in Ballymoney by Danny Dixon, South Down Fed members once again put up some great performances at national level. Pride of place goes to Annsborough’s Robert Shaw who had one of the best cards on the day with 4 pigeons in the result. This was something special as there were only 266 birds recorded on the day throughout Ireland with many more making it home on the second day.
Robert takes the top 3 positions in the Fed and his fourth bird is 8th Fed with all 4 birds making the Open result. His North section and Open positions are as follows, 37th, 84th, 86th and 150th North section, 41st, 99th 102nd, 188th Open.
Robert sent 9 birds to this race and timed 4. All the birds timed had been to Talbenny two weeks previously. The first bird timed was a mealy hen whose dam was one of John Orme, Newtownards’ Distance pigeons through Fear Bros. The dam is an Ian Axe Delbar. A full sister of the bird timed here won Bude as a yearling.
Robert’s second pigeon was 2nd Section F from Talbenny. The sire of this one is a Vandenabeele from the Fowler family in England while the dam is a Van Reet from Jeff Greenaway of Dromore’s ‘Back to Back’ pigeons.
The third bird, which arrived with the second one is a black cheq hen with the sire coming from his Mr & Mrs Paul Woolis from Grimsby pigeons and the sire being one of his own Catryyse pigeons.
The pigeon at 8th Fed for Robert is another hen, with the sire again coming from his Mr & Mrs Paul Woolis pigeons. The dam of this one is a Jan Arden.
D Croskery & Son who have had a dream year at National level winning a coveted Hall of Fame from the King’s Cup add another great trophy to their collection by winning the Robin Duddy Challenge for the best average 3 bird nomination in the Yearling National and Young Bird National. Dominic and Dolen are 4th Fed, 87th North section, 103rd Open. As reported last week they had another great result in the Skibbereen National when they were 2nd and 9th in the North section.
The pigeon timed here is a half sister of their Hall of Fame winner. Its dam was 60th Open in this race last year while the sire is one of their own De Klak pigeons.
Newcastle’s S & A Foster take the next two in the Fed result at 5th and 6th Fed. Again both these birds take good section and Open result. Stephen and Adam timed their two birds within 5 minutes to take 126th, 130th North section and 154th and 161st Open.
Stephen and Adam have a great record from this race and their first pigeon timed here is down from a pigeon that was 5th open in this race for them on the dam’s side while the sire came from Bill Hamilton from Arbroath.
Their second bird broke its leg before the young bird racing began but Adam looked after it and got it back on the road again. He has been well rewarded for his efforts as this bird was in the top 10 in section F of the NIPA in the Talbenny Derby winning £300. Annalong’s McLoughlin Bros are 7th Fed here, taking 143rd North section, 180th Open and is a just reward for all the hard work put in by Seamus throughout the season. The pigeon timed here was 5th club in Talbenny. This young hen is from a pair obtained from J & J Hollinger Millisle.
P Brown & Son Annsborough are 9th Fed, 156th North section, 194th Open this week. Last year Colin got 4 late breds from club mate Mickey Croskery and a pair of them is responsible for the pigeon timed here. While Mickey isn’t in the result here he has had another terrific season.
The result is completed by Annalong’s Bobby McConnell who timed at 5.45pm to just miss out on an Open position. Bobby’s bird was 1st club Talbenny and is bred from a pair of pigeons bought at Richard Quinn and daughter’s clearance sale. The breeding id from Frank Tasker and this pair have bred a few other club prizewinners.
