Broughshane & District: The presentation of awards was held at the recent dinner, new Secretary Alistair Purvis had all the arrangements in hand. I have some details on the seasons racing firstly the Old Birds. J & N Simpson won Tullamore, Rosscarbery OB Inl Nat, Talbenny (1), Talbenny (2), Rosscarbery Yearling Hens Nat, and Rosscarbery flown in the place of Bude. A Purvis won Roscrea, Clonmel, Fermoy, Roscrea Comeback, Clonmel, Rosscarbery Yearling Cocks Nat. D Houston & Son at the end of the year Fermoy 5 Bird, Penzance, Penzance Classic and Portland flown in the place of St Malo. Mid Antrim Combine was topped in successive races, J & N Simpson 1st MAC Rosscarbery Nat 72/620, and A Purvis 1st MAC Clonmel (2) 99/2256. In the Young Birds, T & E Service won Navan and Tullamore early on, A Purvis had Mullingar, Roscrea, Fermoy, Tullamore Comeback, J & N Simpson won Clonmel, Mallow and Rosscarbery National. No birds were recorded from Talbenny National.

The Breeder/Buyer £100 was won by Mrs M Smyth, A Purvis won the Gold Ring and Club Member of the Year was Gilchrist Bros. Club Bird of the Year and the W Workman Memorial Plith was won by J & N Simpson. Their Cheq Pied cock had 1st Club Clonmel, 1st Club Rosscarbery, 3rd Club Mallow and 4th Club Tullamore.

Looking at the list for the INFC races, J & N Simpson had 1st Club Skibbereen OB Nat (12th & 21st MAC), D Houston & Son won 1st Club in the Sennen Cove Yearling Nat (12th MAC) and J & N Simpson were best in the Kings Cup flown from Saint Allouestre at 505 miles winning 1st Mid Antrim Combine, only 11 day birds in the Muckamore Centre. The OB Inland Average was won by J & N Simpson while D Houston & Son won the OB Cross Channel Average and the Lowest Winning Velocity.
