Carrick Advertiser column –

News Items 14 Jun 2013

For several years I have had a column published in the Alpha Newspaper group series in East Antrim. The one this week submitted is as below. This is for the benefit of the many supporters over more years than I care to remember going back to the time the Editor was a Mr Greer, who before that was at the Newsletter. It was part of my paid work. One concerned fancier in East Antrim has raised a query with the paper, so far remains anonymous – so far! I have got to the source of the complaint, not sure I have sorted the problem. On a similar subject of press coverage, think I have now sorted a problem in North Antrim/Coleraine.

John White of Nutts Corner best from Talbenny –
The NIPA East Antrim birds were at Talbenny in South Wales for the second week, the race turned out a lot better following liberation at 8.30am, best bird locally was timed by John White of Muckamore who races his birds to lofts at Nutts Corner. The winner recorded velocity 1344 and finished 1st Sect C and a good 15th Open NIPA with 10,000 birds competing. Next best was M/M B McNeilly of Doagh & District followed by J & S Graham of Kingsmoss. Rea & Magill of Horseshoe were best in Larne and D & J Armstrong & Son were best in Carrickfergus.
