NIPA Update on Avien Flu –

UPDATE ON INFORMATION REGARDING AVIEN FLU 18THNOVEMBER 2014.
Bird Gatherings and club shows in Northern Ireland are permitted provided they are organised and all
precautions taken as per the General Licence issued by the DEPARTMENT.
This licence can be down loaded of their web site.
All bio security must be followed to the letter such as everyone attending must be recorded names
addresses and registered UK Bird Number. All pigeons life rings must be recorded and Matched with their
owners.
If your pigeons show any sign of sickness or anything you are concerned about you must notify the Dept.
immediately.
No pigeons are allowed to be imported form the Rest of Europe without the proper veterinary certificates
and again inform your local veterinary office.
No pigeons are permitted to be imported from G.B. without the proper licences issued by the DEPT.
IT IS A MUST THAT EVERY PIGEON FANCIER AND MEMBER OF ANY PIGEON CLUB AND THE NIPA MUST
ABIDE BY THESE RULES.
NO MEMBER SHOULD DISREGARD THIS NOTICE AND NO MEMBER SHOULD TRY AND IMPORT PIGEONS
FROM G.B. AND EUROPE WITHOUT THE PROPER DOCUMENTATIONS.
If we receive any further updates from the DEPT we will keep you informed.
Remember when racing comes round we have to work with the DEPT.
