South Leinster Federation - AGM 2012

The Annual General Meeting of the South Leinster Federation was held on Sunday 12th February 2012 the venue being the Harbour Bar & Lounge Arklow.Proceedings kicked off at approximately 12.15 with about a third of the membership present.

The minutes of the previous AGM.were read and passed as a true record with no matters arising.A few items of correspondence were also dealt with quite speedily.The balance sheet was adopted with just one matter arising.

The outgoing Chairman/Race Controller Eamonn.O'Brien gave a very comprehensive report, congratulating all those that had excelled at National level with both the INFC & IHU NFC.He went on to state that Billy.Cullimore had a record breaking season clocking up a total of eight Federation wins.Mention was also given to Dempsey Brothers who put in some top drawer performances.On the channel he stated that Wicklow,Gorey & Arklow came to the fore.Finally he thanked everyone for all their efforts and to anyone that put their shoulder to the wheel at the marking stations.He then moved on to his race controllers report in which he thanked all those who offered their support and advice on race days and a word of praise for our transport driver Brendan.Gregory & convoyer Danny.Kelly whose care and welfare of the birds was first class.It was a difficult 2011 season with some tough decisions to be made over the programme.He wound up his report by acknowledging the the invaluable assistance from race controllers within other organisations.

The outgoing Secretary/Treasurer's report was then read to the meeting.Federation members competed in a total of thirty four races with the following clubs taking the spoils Wexford N/S Inv 16 wins [all land],Gorey 4 [1 channel race],Arklow United 4 [3 channel races],Wicklow S/R 4 [4 channel races],Tower Inv 2 [all land],Abbeyside Inv 2 [ 1 channel race],Shamrock 1 [ 1 land] and Individual 1 [ 1 land].

In his Treasurers report mention was given to the drop in Federation membership,but a reduction in the total for carriage to races.

The election of the main officers was as follows.President-Pat.Kavanagh,Vice-President-Michael.O'Reilly Snr.Chairman-Eamonn.O'Brien-Secretary,Treasurer and PRO-John.Kenna-Race-Controller-Eamonn.O'Brien. Various Club delegates were also elected with a few minor changes from last season.There were just ten motions down for debate with 1,4,6,7,8,10.carried--2,3,5,8.--defeated and number 9 read and noted.
