Danny Dixon had the top three arrivals in the Coleraine Centre but the best into Coleraine was yet again Hanson & Harpur of the Coleraine Premier, doing velocity 1577 with the early bird they took the top four places in the Coleraine Triangle. For the final NIPA race of the young bird season we had the Rosscarbery Inland Nat, birds were released on the appointed day on Saturday at 9.30am and leading birds made light work of the 250 odd miles from County Cork. Best bird locally was timed by the Blair & Rankin team who have been going very well in the Ballymena & Dist HPS. Bertie timed the same Blue cock that topped the MAC the week previous from Fermoy timing at 13.57hrs to record velocity 1670 for the 254 miles into Chichester Park. George McDowell from Kells & Dist was next best he timed his good Blue hen at 13.56hrs flying 252 miles. This bird was winning for the third time including the Fermoy 5 Bird and was his race favourite, bloodlines are Van Massenhoven x Staf van Reet.

Kells & Dist HPS have another Social Evening planned to take place in the Dunsilly Hotel, Antrim on Friday 26th October, pay at the door. Prior to the main event the Kells & Dist HPS will present the prizes for the year. More details later.

At the end of the season members need to claim for the various awards, deadline is two weeks after the final race flown last weekend from Rosscarbery, that is on or before Sat 29th September, no late claims will be entertained. Bookings now being taken for tickets to the Annual Ladies Night to be held at the Templeton Hotel in Templepatrick on Friday 9th November. Jim Burgess and Danny Brennan from Bangor won the final race of the season, the Ken McConaghie YB Derby was flown on Saturday from Skibbereen. McCartan & Woodsides from Crossgar had the top two in the West Sect and finished 2nd & 3rd Open, it was a photo finish with all three birds recording velocity 1745.
