Almost all the Irish Organisations including the NIPA delayed race marking until Saturday and the liberation in Roscrea was on Sunday 27th April at 11.00am into an East NE wind. Sect G had the best birds with a top result for Mr & Mrs Gerald Delaney of Oroory Hill Stud in Dromore taking 1st & 2nd Open NIPA with two birds together. They were followed by Jeff Greenaway into the hot-bed of Dromore taking 1st Sect D.

Last weekend due to the unfavourable conditions race marking was delayed to Saturday and the race from Roscrea flown on Sunday with liberation at 11.00am in a Lt East NE wind. Kells lofts were as expected best again and Surgenor Bros won 1st MAC for the second time in the three races to date. Jeff timed his winner at 14.26hrs flying 146 miles for velocity 1250, next best from the same club was Scott & Clements. Paddy McManus had a super card with the best four birds in Ahoghill and best bird in town was recorded by J Millar & Son 1st Harryville doing velocity 1237.

The East Antrim area lofts were best again in the weekend race flown from Roscrea Co Tipperary on Sunday, liberation was at 11.00am in a Lt East NE wind. M & T Griffith of the Eastway HPS had 1st Sect C & 15th Open NIPA on velocity 1293 and Fleming Bros of Crumlin & Dist topped the NIPA Sect B on velocity 1262. Surgenor Bros from Kells & District topped Mid Antrim Combine for the second time in the three races to date.

Jimmy Hanson is Loft to Beat -
Jimmy Hanson is the loft to beat at the present time, the Coleraine Premier loft recording velocity 1260 is best in the Coleraine Triangle for all three races on the trot topping Sect A in the last two. It’s a similar story in Ballymoney where Danny Dixon from Dunloy has won all three as well. Birds were race marked on Saturday and the race from Roscrea was flown on Sunday with liberation at 11.00am in a Lt East NE wind. D Coyles & Son from Coleraine Prem are going well as is A & M Boyle 1st again in Dervock and Tommy Kaczynski has a good 1st in Rasharkin & District.
Jimmy Hanson had a fantastic result with two birds on the same yard, the winner is half-sister to previous weeks 1st Section winner and 2nd Open NIPA , the Danny Dixon Heartbeaker lines, his top Lambrechts. The 2nd bird was winner of 1st race and 1st Section in the Yearling National 2012, out of Alan Darragh Frans van Wildemeersch birds.

TOP WEEKEND PERFORMANCE FOR OROORY HILL
The N.I.P.A. were in Roscrea for the 3rd old bird race of the season. The birds were liberated on Sunday 27-
04-14 at 11am into a light north east wind. Top two spots this week winning 1st & 2nd Club Dromore , 1st &
2nd Sect G ( 90/2,658 ) & 1st & 2nd NIPA Open Roscrea were Mr & Mrs G Delaney better known to all as
Oroory Hill Stud . Gerald & Pat had a fantastic race beating a convoy of 24,161 birds . A massive convoy and
these two birds were well out on their own beating the 3rd placed bird by 16 ypm. When speaking to Gerald
last week to congratulate him on topping Sect G from 1st Roscrea he was quick to point out that the birds were
in tip top form and more was to come. Well his words were definitely true as this week he stepped up a gear
and topped the mighty NIPA Open on a testing day . Two birds arrived on the trap and first to register on the
ETS was a three year old cock bred by the master himself Willy Jacobs . Next to trap was last weeks Section G
winner , a three year old blue hen , who was unfortunate not to trap first and record two section wins on the trot
. This hen is in super form as her results proves and now adds another top result to her impressive array of
prizes to date . Breeding is the very best of the Oroory Hill Grondelaers crossed with the Willy Jacob " Cream
Crackers " . Both birds were flown on " The Delaney System " . Congratulations to Gerald & Pat on your recent
top success .
