Balbriggan R.P.C has been holding a Charity Show for the last number of years and has amassed thousands of euros in aid of local charities. This show is held in memory of our past club man Jimmy McIntyre, Jimmy was a great worker for Balbriggan club so it’s great to honour him with this show. This year our show was held on Saturday 13th of December, once again it was a great turn-out with over 400 pigeons entered. Judges for the day were some of the finest fanciers around and they indeed did some fantastic picking on the day, they were Dave Black, Alan Black, Andrew Black and Harry Silcock, all from Dromara in Northern Ireland. There was a fantastic turn out with fanciers traveling from all around to support this great show. Best In Show and Best Opposite Sex was awarded to two of Balbriggans greats, taking best in show was Mr & Mrs J McMahon (Jackie & Moyra) with a smashing blue hen! Taking Best Opposite Sex was J Guildea & Son (Jimmy & Des) with a cracking blue check cock. Great picking on behalf of the judges.

On behalf of Balbriggan R.P.C, I would like to thank our judges and all who made the effort to travel to support our show. I would also like to thank all those who donated the raffle prizes and bought raffle tickets. I would like to say a special thanks to all who donated a bird for our auction. On behalf of the Balbriggan club members I would like to extend a get well wish to Oliver McGillivary and Sean Richardson who I’m sure would have loved to be present at the show.
