Mickos Independent Fed Pictorial Kildare OB’s 18 April 2015

Hi everyone isn’t it great the racing has started again you think you have all the time in the world to start breeding and all of a sudden its training time and getting ready for the first race well last Saturday was a really lovely day for the Ulster Fed’s first old bird race of the season Kildare roughly about 106 miles to Belfast and I have to start by apologising I don’t know how many fanciers we went to and I forgot to ask the breeding of the birds hard to get the brain in gear at times we will have to do better next week theres still clubs who haven’t been in contact fanciers can contact us themselves as we would like to` so kicking of the start of the new season.

Alexandra HPS winning this week Tommy Lyttle with a velocity of 1467
Tommy no stranger to winning and a good start to the season and should take a fed position.

Andersonstown RPC again no strangers to winning Johnston Bro’s (Martin & Michael) this week flying 1455 winning this week with a Staf Van Reet from their friend Mick Bower Mayo to one of their old stock Braspenning line and I have to say this combination is really hitting it off for Martin and Michael taking 1st & 2nd places in the club and when Franko and myself were there Michael brought us into the lofts to show us the winner and here she was sitting on 2 young birds on the floor no widowhood or roundabout there theses guys fly natural.

Grosvenor HPS with a winning velocity of 1478 Joe Ward & Son (Joe) Divis Lofts winning with a Heremans Ceuster they breed themselves from a pair they brought from Wayne Doonan Crow Cock Lofts the nest mate of this bird also won prizes in the Shamrock 2 Bird and Saturdays winner should be in the top 6 in the Fed giving Spence Bro’s Lagan Valley RPC a very close run for the top position.

Glen Invitation winning the Glen in the first race of the season FARMER (L Brown) flying 1439 with a
bird Farmer calls “MAUREEN”

Fortfield HPS this is starting to get a bit embarrassing Franko and myself are at this door that often I’m waiting on Margaret opening the door seeing Franko and myself and FOR GOD SAKE GIVE US A BREAK yes kicking of this season by winning the Fortfield Rab & Margaret Mc Manus flying 1476.

Image

Brittannia HPS have to sat these guys did the damage last season with birds from Gerald & Pat Delaney Oroory Hill Stud and they have started this season winning SP Haughey & McDowell flying 1434 with a bird they breed themselves from a pair birds out of Oroory Hill Stud. Down with Paddy on Monday evening he said Mousey better get the finger out as they have a new loft manager.

Image

Wheatfield HPS we have been to this loft so many times I’m sure both men are probably saying to themselves you would think micko has enough photos of us by now in my opinion this partnership IS ONE OF “the” TOP RACING TEAMS ON THE ISLAND OF IRELAND AND BRITAIN Joe and David Braniff with a winning velocity of 1441 and flying a Vanenabeele bird.

Image

Ballymacarrett HPS winning the top 3 positions in the club was Davy Mc Elhome with a winning velocity of 1431.941.

Image

Shankill HPS well these two lads had a great result at the weekend with 7 places in the top 9 4th was W Campbell and 8th McAuley , Kells & Bowles but this was a super result for the team of McClurkin & McCoubrey Johns partner Nicola with Saturdays winner.

Image

NIPA Colin HPS You probably read in the Wheatfield result what I said about J & D Braniff (Joe & David) well these guys also race in the NIPA Colin club and taking 9 of the top 10 club positions with Joe Ward & Son (Grosvenor HPS winners) who also race in the NIPA taking 7th place J & D with a winning velocity 1359 and flying again a Vanenabeele bird.
