The weekend race was delayed for a day due to the weather forecast for Saturday, when the birds were race marked it was decided to race again from the shorter Tullamore instead of the planned event from Roscrea, with an early liberation. Conditions were good early on Sunday and liberation was at 8.00am, despite some rain and hail the early arrivals made light work of the approx. 130 miles to Mid Antrim. A number of lofts excelled with top performances. Stewart Bros won Randalstown for the second week, two birds together finish 1st & 2nd MAC. Gibson & Dickey had three birds on the one yard for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in Cullybackey, with Geoff Dickey on holiday Garry Gibson produced a super result. Harryville had the best birds in Ballymena the top five places to Jimmy Rock. The yearling Cheq w/f cock was timed at 10.30am recording velocity 1484 for the 126 miles to Albert Place, Jacob from Gerald Delaney and Van Wildemeersch through A Cousins & Sons. Mr & Mrs Sempey returned to winning ways in Ballymena & Dist who had 455 birds competing, they finish 1st, 3rd and 5th beating Bertie Blair in a photo finish. The winning Blue Ch Pied 3 year old hen won as a young bird and was their best Van den Brande x Lambrecht flying to the perch. The Rock and Sempey lofts were top prize-winners in their respective clubs last season.
