Dear Sir / Madam, We hope you are well, As we are sure you may already be aware UK Pigeon Couriers was established in 2008 after the demise of the national courier Amtrack.

Originally Based in Congleton, Cheshire, Father and son, Dave and Daryl Thornton along with a handful of others made UK Pigeon Couriers the number one pigeon courier in the UK, offering a fantastic service to pigeon fanciers, breeders and top named studs.

The biggest recession in modern times Hit, and Unfortunately In 2012 UK Pigeon Couriers delivered its last pigeon and closed its doors......Sad Times.

Lets fast forward to 2014, Both Dave and Daryl returned to there home town of Leeds after the closure and eventually both worked together, first as drivers and then as managers after been asked by a Scottish based food logistics company to create, open and run a depot in England, Dave and Daryl both successfully did this together working as a team and the Scottish based company now have a fully functioning depot in England as well as Scotland.

It was during this period that both Dave and Daryl spoke about beginning again to race pigeons, Dave has always been successful in pigeon racing in both Leeds and Cheshire, he has over 45 years experience and is a 3rd generation fancier, Distance racing being his forte, winning from across the channel on numerous occasions. Even clocking decent birds from Tarbes at 694 miles

There was also very good memories spoken of UK Pigeon Couriers and the people they had met along there travels over the years, However together laughing at the thought of it ever restarting, the idea was always brushed off....

\"I think deep down both Dave and Daryl secretly had plans for the future...But nothing was ever set in stone or really spoken about between them on the business side\"

But...it was always going to happen......

In late 2015, four members of the Thornton family got together and had a family meeting, Exciting times ahead and a hotel in Blackpool was booked for the big show weekend!! The rest they say is history.. David Thornton, his brother Stuart and sister Gwyn and of course not forgetting Daryl together in the Royal suite of the Imperial hotel had the final business meeting on the Saturday afternoon after the Blackpool show...

Later on that evening during dinner they toasted the new family business, UK Pigeon Couriers 2 was born....

The feed back from both old and new customers from the collections and deliveries over the last few weeks has already been fantastic, Many going out of there way with calls, text messages and emails welcoming the team back into the pigeon sport and wishing them the best of luck.... The adventure continues.........
