Post by willie reynolds »

Quality Pigeon Auctions
Announcement

Just to let Fanciers who are interested in channel / distance birds { Winner of the Kings Cup and The Miller gold Cup}, We will be conducting a number of Auctions on behalf of Jimmy Cullen, Jimmy has suffered a number of strokes and although recovering well, he realizes that it is impossible to manage all the birds that he has, Jimmy has possibly the finest team of channel/distance birds in Ireland .
He certainly has the record to prove it , with over 60 birds clocked from French races in the last 6 years. As everybody knows racing from France into Ireland takes a very special bird and every race from France one of the first names mentioned is Jimmy\'s.

The first draft of birds for auction will be 50 yearlings trained to 50 miles and bred from all the performance birds clocked from France.
The second draft will be 50 birds bred from the stock birds responsible for breeding the birds clocked from the french races.

further information will be available and a full sales list once Jimmy gets home from hospital and has the time to sort out the details , we expect the auctions to take place in the Sarsfield club in mid October 2016
THIS WILL BE ONLY THE SECOND TIME THAT JIMMY HAS EVER SOLD BIRDS AND IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN POSSIBLY THE FINEST DISTANCE BLOODLINES FOR RACING/ STOCK IN IRELAND

Preview of what Jimmy Cullens auction has in store for you.

If its channel pigeons your after you really wont get any better than these.
It is with great regret that I must part with my 2015 pigeons due to ill health, in 2 teams, both trained up to 50 miles in the year of their birth.
The 1st team off the stock birds from my old address are responsible for all the present day performers in the National Flying Club. They originally came from the late Jim Biss i.e. “Turban”, “Paddy”, “Vend”, “Navigator”, “Nomad” and many others.

They were the only team in Ireland to win the Kings Cup (1992), Hall of Fame (1995) (3 times in 1st 200 Kings Cup) and the Millar Gold Cup in (1997), being the only bird on the day. My loft also featured many times up in the derby from Dinard, Lambelle, Picauville, with the only bird on the day being recorded in my loft from Falaise INFC (14th open) and only 2 birds recorded on the day in Dublin from Portland INFC. In addition, I timed the only 2 birds on the day from Portsmouth INFC and recorded 7 from 7 sent to the INFC Friendship National from Sartilly.

I timed in Guernsey IHU National where there were very few birds recorded and this bird also went on to fly Redon twice in prizemoney.
I also won the ECF from Redon in 2000 on the day of the race after a 6 day holdover, winning 20th open INFC Kings Cup.

In 2008, I bred an Ash chq hen that was timed twice in the Kings Cup in Wicklow on the day in 2010 & 2011 respectively. She was going for Hall of Fame sadly however, she broke her neck in the garden that year. In addition, I had a Blue Hen timed in Wicklow from the Kings Cup in 2011 & 2012. The loft has had great long distance success with 50 birds timed from France in Wicklow since 2009.
The 2nd team are from all the 2015 birds which were timed from France, some for 4 or 5 times namely;

Blue Hen 1st in derby from St Malo (2011); 50th open INFC St. Allouestre in 2012, which was a smash with only 70 birds in race time, of which we had 5 in the result. She was also 6th open INFC in 2014 St. Allouestre on the day of a bad race with only 40 home, of which we had 4 in the result.
Blue Chq “Henry the Navigator” has flown the Channel many times; 19th St Malo derby on the day; timed on the day 28thopen Friendship National; 25th open 2014 St Allouestre smash race. He was also timed in St Allouestre in 2015 in a very quick race. In total I timed 15 birds from France in 2015.
Chq Pied “Sarah” timed St. Allouestre on the day – 10th open in 2012; timed in 2013 on the day from the Quimper Friendship National placed 33rd open. In 2014 she was 3rd open on the day of the Kings Cup race; in 2015 she was also timed in the Quimper Friendship National early on the day.

Red Pied timed YB Derby Talbenny 2010; won 1st in club Yearling National and was also well up in the INFC open (50th); timed in 2013 Quimper placed 79th in a very bad race. This bird was also timed in Bude in 2012.
“Young Navigator” was timed in the Friendship National from Quimper in 2014 being placed 7th open. He was also timed in Quimper in 2015 early on the day in a very quick race.
“Eric” – dark chq timed in Quimper Friendship National placed 9th open in a hard race – won Henry Beattie & Son Trophy.
“Lucy” – dark Chq timed in the yearling national in 2014 placed 146th open. In 2015 she was timed in the St Malo Derby in Prizemoney.
Red Pied Cock “James Jessie” ; 2013 1st Bird to the loft in the Yearling National; 2014 1st Club St Malo, being the only bird in race time; 2015 2nd Club St Malo placed well in the federation but was beaten by a loft mate. This bird will be going for gold medal in the South Road Federation.

Both teams are from a long line of successful distance pigeons, current and past.
