South Central B/B is back for 2017 open to all of the Country -

South Central Super Club 2017 BB is now open for entrants.
Due to the success of this year, and the subsequent feedback, 2017 will see a huge expansion in the event.
1. There will be 2 sales one in Dublin one in Waterford.
2 There will be 2 races. One Inland, most likely Barleycove, and one across the pond, most likely Talbenny.
3. Prize money split 60% 40% HOWEVER to redress the imbalance, the inland race will see a special prize for all birds flying over 160 miles. Somewhere between 10% and 15% of the overall money for that race. Example. if there is 15,000 euro for the inland race 12 1/2 % (2,250) of that will be ring fenced for birds flying over 160 miles.
The reason for doing this is simple. To help ensure the birds are actually raced and not stocked. I know a lot of UK fanciers were concerned about that this season but invariably the birds were all put into the race team. So the big carrot approach is the best way to achieve fairness for all. Good Faith is an essential part of this event.
I will be happy to split the money 50% each race if the demand is there. and feel it will be better. But it will need to judged when all the entrants are known: but before the sales takes place. Put simply, You can\'t designate a big chink of money to lofts over 160 miles but then find only 1 loft has entered.
7 1/2 %% of the prize money will go to the 1st and 2nd UK breeder prize. For 2017 only mainland UK is eligible as for 2017 I believe fanciers north of the border can compete in the actual race itself. Subsequently. there is no need to include north of the border.
10% of the overall sale goes to the the Super Club itself.
Some basic rules.
1. I do not care where the bird is bred or by who so long as the ring is registered to the entrant.
2. I do not care where the buyer gets the money, wife, mother in law, gas meter, whip round, his mistress or even his wife\'s lover. The person the ring is registered to will be regarded as the buyer.
3. For reason\'s still unfathomable I have to call it a Bring & Buy sale.
4. As there are now 2 races each fancier can enter up to 3 birds.
5. As many birds as your pocket will allow may be purchased.
6 The will be a special 20 euro \"breeder pool\" on each races. 2 races would be 40 euro if pooling in both. This is Optional. 20 per breeder with winner take all. In the English and Irish languages and even some East European dialects, that means you must be a breeder and you can only bet on the birds you bred. Regardless of who is racing them. Might sound confusing but it\'ll be ok once you\'ve had half a bottle of Scotch. Nothing simplifies life quite like good scotch whiskey.
7. Anyone can buy any pigeon so long as the fancier racing the pigeon is eligible to compete in both races. To restate the obvious, the person who the ring is registered to is the \"BUYER\".
8. Prize money split 50% breeder 50% buyer.
9. The race is run under the auspices if the South Central Super Club. The rules are laid down by the South Central Super Club. The guy who didn\'t quite understand that element of it this year and seemingly had little else to do but upset apple carts is ........................and lucky it doesn\'t extend into the hereafter.
