The third race of the young bird season was flown from Tullamore, it was the first mass release following two weeks of Area Liberations. 20,000 plus birds were liberated at the early time of 9.00am and winners romped home in the helping conditions. Thompson Bros from Crumlin topped Sect B on velocity and just a yard behind Sammy Bones who had 1st Muckamore. R H Clements topped Harryville for the third race on the trot and in Ballymena & Dist Charlie McManus had the Card of the Day, 5 birds in the result including the winner and also 1st MAC. He timed the early bird at 11.00am his Cheq hen was flying 124 miles, last week’s winner W & J Smyth were just a yard behind. The winner for Roy Clements was a Blue hen, Soontjen bloodlines Forbes x Laycock timed on the hour and flying 125 miles.
