As a concerned member of this community, I would like to highlight the health issues associated with the peregrine nest site.
As you are involved in the Peregrine Falcon Urbanisation Programme I wanted to make sure that you are aware of the health risks?
The risks that are associated with avian influenza and prey remains from infected wild birds killed by peregrines that the Peregrine Falcon Urbanisation Programme has willingly invited into our community?
Is the community aware that Peregrine Falcon Urbanisation Programme is putting the public health at risk? Do they realise, that not only are the prey remains spread by footfall through the community but air intake vents can also be contaminated. Therefore the remains are being exposed to large amounts of people. This is a serious risk associated with avian influenza
The risk is a serious one that can be backed up by facts. If you look at the world health organisation website it will show the health risks associated with avian influenza infected carcasses. This is something I strongly urge both you and the Peregrine Falcon Urbanisation Programme study.
There is a credible risk to the community and you have been made aware of this risk. I would advise you to take action to alleviate this risk or I will be forced to inform the community of the risk on your behalf. Avian influenza needs a vector and the vector is the peregrine falcon killing infected migratory birds. Because you and Peregrine Falcon Urbanisation Programme invited this peregrine falcon into our community it is your responsibility to take action and contain this heath risk.
This communication will become a point of reference concerning you being aware of the health risks associated with peregrine urbanisation
